Reporting this number does little. The collection agency will just obtain another number. I always answer the call when I receive them. Today I received one on my Cell phone. The unidentified person asked for Mr. Who knows. as they had some legal papers they wanted to serve. I responded, I am sorry Mr. Who Knows died last week, where do you want me to send a copy of the death certificate? They hung up.

Called last week and wanted info. And offered to reduce payment owed if I had small children, then used profanity when they had found out had wrong address, used profanity.  Called today, did not use my name, just said serving papers tomorrow.  When I asked who they were calling, they gave wrong name and address .  Hung up when I got angry and pressed them for more information.  They are calling once a week.  Also called my sister a horrible name and then called her a broke a-- bit-- who did not pay her bills.  Does not matter who answers phone, they have usedprofanity.  Afraid for my mother to answer phone.  Report them to FBI or whoever you can think of. Fed up with all of this!

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

received a call from this number - when I answered he stated he was Roy Nelson. Refused to state the name of the company, said they didn't have to say who they were.  Wanted a return call to 888-780-5411.  Then called my cell with a number of 775-323-3311. (Which is the MS Society of Reno NV)
According to my attorney, they do have to tell you who they are, who they represent, what the debt is, when it occurred etc.  This set of numbers is now blocked.

Call came from Daisy at the "Civil Procedures Division".

I received two calls from this number today. On my cellphone and home phone asking for my maiden name which I have not used in over a decade. They claimed that they had documents to delivery to me and needed ME to call ANOTHER number to find out what and why. I then in turn asked the person their name, & location. The first person that would be Daisy told me her name then hung up when I informed her I would need the address for a police report. The second guy also refused to give me his name and just hung up.

I was harassed by these same people earlier this year. I was told I was being sued but they refused to tell me by who or why or how or anything other than they needed me to be home on a specific day to receive the "paperwork from an officer". I called my local police department to ask if this was something they do or if they had ever heard about it. I filed a complaint with them, they followed up with the number which was then out of Florida and told me to NOT speak with them again as they actually hung up on a person who called identifying themself as a police officer seeking information. I now always ask for a name and a location and then a direct phone number to their office. If a business won't give you that information they are not a business they are a scam. I actually was taken to court once over a debt I didn't realize I had and if you get a summons no one calls you first to ask if you will politely accept it. That is not a thing!

Here are a few warning signs that could signal a debt collection scam:

The debt collector threatens you. Legitimate debt collectors probably won't claim that they'll have you arrested or claim that they or their employees are law enforcement officers.
The debt collector refuses to give you information about your debt or is trying to collect a debt you do not recognize. You have certain rights to ask a debt collector to verify the debt. You can use this sample letter to request this information. Ask for an explanation in writing before you pay.
The debt collector refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number.
The debt collector asks you for sensitive personal financial information. You should never provide anyone with your personal financial information unless you are sure they're legitimate.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

Ask the caller for his or her name, company, street address, telephone number, and professional license number. Many states require debt collectors to be licensed. Check the information the caller provides you with your state officials, or the state in which the debt collector holds a license. If the caller refuses or is unable to provide you with information about his company, or if you can’t verify the information he provides, do not give money to the caller or company.
Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." This notice must include:
    The amount of the debt
The name of the creditor you owe
A description of certain rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, consider requesting this information in writing or seeking assistance before paying the debt to make sure the debt, and the company, are valid.

Tip: You can consider sending the collector a letter requesting the information by using one of the CFPB's sample letters. You can also submit a complaint to the CFPB or you can contact your state Attorney General’s office.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know the company or person you are talking with is a real debt collector. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft such as:
    Charging your existing credit cards
Opening new credit card or checking accounts
    Writing fraudulent checks
Taking out loans in your name
Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
Report the call. Submit a complaint with the CFPB or get in touch with your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers.
Stop speaking with the caller. If nothing else works and you believe the calls are fraudulent, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files.
Tip: You can use this sample letter to write a letter demanding the debt collector stop contacting you. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Tip: If you're having trouble with debt collection, you can submit a complaint with the CFPB online or by calling (855) 411-CFPB (2372).
