Just a Scammer using a non-working Spoofed. Number.  Call them and ask what Business if U don't see in 800 Notes. Then I block if bill collector or telemarketer or Survey or phony charity or non-working. Gone forever!  My own DNC list!

FYI:  555 exchange is used primarily for legitimate information numbers (ex:  301-555-1212 is for information lookup a $1.50 charge) 555  oftentimes considered a "dummy" exchange-movies and tv shows use them for fictitious telephone numbers.  What we have here is a "spoofed" number.

comcast will not let me block this number; it says that the number does not exist and therefore cannot be blocked.  I did try to dial it and indeed it is not a working number.  BUT I KEEP GETTING CALLS WITH THIS ON CALLER ID!  It is obviously masking the real source deliberately.  Wonder what would happen if you actually agreed to let them clean your ducts!

I am getting several robocalls a day for this "duct cleaning service". I usually don't pick up, but I did once so I could press 2 to remove myself from their call list. I did, but still get calls. Very annoying!

Modern technology has given telespammers the tools to call you.
Lawbreaking telescammers ignore both the Do Not Call list and any request you might make.

Modern technology can also protect you, if YOU do a few simple things!
The most effective thing to do is to get a call blocking device, service or app.
    Then, use it correctly.

Google "call blocker" for more information.  There are available apps (some free) for smart phones, and services and devices for landlines.

If you cannot use or afford such a tool, then:

    • Do not answer calls from unknown numbers ... let them go to voicemail or answering service.  Telespammers usually hang up after 3 or 4 rings.

    • Do NOT return calls from unknown numbers!  All that does is verify your phone number, and make it more valuable to more spam groups!  And, in some cases, those return calls may cost $20 or more to complete. If the incoming call was important, they would have left a message!

    • If you have a "dumb" cell phone, assign the scammer's number to a group named "scam" (or similar).  Then, assign a silent ringtone to that group. (This also works for smartphones).  The spammer will usually hang up before the phone goes to voicemail.

    • Another option, for cell phones:  Assign a "silent ringtone" as DEFAULT.  Then, assign your favorite ringtones to all known friends / family / business numbers.  That way, you will hear rings ONLY from those you wish to contact!  You will not hear scammers' rings, even if they change their number!  (This is also called "whitelisting", and will cause you to miss calls from non-whitelisted numbers).

If you want to report potential fraudulent or scam calls, here are two pages of links to (mostly government) sites in Canada and the USA were you can report those scams, or learn more about them.

    Look here first:

If the reporting site you wanted is not in the above list, try this one:

If you have an Apple iPhone, you CAN block the number and any other unwanted phone caller: Click on the "i" in the circle next to the number.  Scroll to the bottom of that new screen, and click on "Block this Caller."  Although they will still call, you will no longer be plagued with hearing the ring.

Reported them to FCC two weeks ago. STILL getting 2-3 or more calls a day. I pressed '1' today & asked why their company shows as Directory Assistance on Caller ID & they said it was their 'computer' that was responsible. This has been going on for 6 weeks. :(  Very infuriating. My understanding is that if someone actually schedules a service with them then that will allow them to call you probably for the rest of our natural lives.

Any company that makes repeat calls to irritate potential customers have a really stupid marketing program or are just criminals! If this keeps up ,I am going to schedule some work and have them arrested for violating FCC and local calling laws.
    I get 2 or 3 calls a day.

As of today these people have call me over 30 times.  I know that because the call blocker I purchased because of them counts the number of times each block number calls.  That's 30 times in the last 3 weeks.  They don't call every day but when they do call they call 2 to 4 times in a day then they stop for a few days and then start up again a few days later.  I really need to thank them.  If not for them my phone would still be ringing all day. The only reason I know they are still calling is the caller id on my phone registers the call.  The blocker blocks it without so much as a single ring.  Silence is wonderful.  At least until they change their phone number.  There there will be one call and they'll be blocked again.
