- Slim replies to saw`>> this need to be a law <<
Um..
Several laws cover that.
Why do you think criminals want to obey laws?
Here are two pages of links to (mostly government) sites in Canada and the USA were you can report those scams, or learn more about them.

All the mental anquish and problems causing us when they call. This is where waterboarding should be used. They deserve it. One of these days, some scammer will be caught and I hope and pray a really good prosecutor will make a huge example of them...
- PatThey left me and my wife the same type of message....nice to know they are a scam. I called them back from a anonymous phone # and asked who they were. The said Global Acquisitions and that they were a litigation firm. I told them I didn't know who they were looking for.
- Caller: Global Acquisitions

- Cheryl| 1 replyJust got home and had a call from 302-241-0396, yesterday it was a call from 214-504-2986. Both are Global Acquisitions. Yesterday was check and bank fraud, today it is a litigation claim. 1st call I spoke to a really "B", told her to stop calling my house, there is no claims against me. She told me that if they said my full name their was a claim against me. I called BS and told her I would report to my local police....she hung up. 2nd call I told the man to take my number off whatever stupid list they had me on, his reply was ummmm and then hung up. 3rd call I started the convoy with Listen I hope you are intelligent and can hear me clearly..please take my number off of whatever scammer list you have me on, because I have received calls from to different numbers that are being made from the same call center and ya'll are really stating to piss me off....to which a very nice young man replied. I am so sorry ma'am I will take your number off our list right now. But be advised it could take 30 days to fully be out of our system. Also if you ever receive a call from us again do not answer or press the number 9 as the message indicates or your phone number will cycle back through our system and you will begin receiving calls again. Total scam

- Sherri in NebraskaI have not received calls directly on my phone, but my mother has on her cell and one of our supervisors at work keeps getting these calls. Both numbers 214-504-2986 and 302-241-0396 have appeared on caller ID or been left in a recorded message indicating pending legal action against me. They call themselves Global Acquisitions and when I requested a letter for this alleged debt as required by collection laws they abruptly stopped talking. I then told them to deal with me directly and remove all phone numbers they have-interestingly enough, I never get a call from anyone. Then the call went dead. It's really pissing me off! I have filed a police report in the past with my sheriff's department and the calls stopped but now years later they are coming back again. Guess I'll be making a trip to the sheriff's office again!!

- Michelle C| 1 replyReceived a threatening phone call last week (I was not at home-left a message) threatening legal action for some bank fraud debt. ?? Funny thing is they used my maiden name. They left a call back number of 302-241-0396. Caller Id showed caller unknown and withheld their number from me. Has to be ANOTHER scam. So sick of them.

- Phil J| 1 replyOn Monday, July 21, 2014, a representative from "Global Acquisitions" called my 92 year old mother and left her a voice message that she needs return the call @ 302-241-0396 regarding a State and Federal Claim filed against her. My Mom called me, in turn, I called the number which rings and rings until an non-identifying automated operator answers, "please hold, and someone will answer your call". Three minutes passed, a person named Daniel White answered (he sounded like he just woke-up & street thug) he said, "I need ta know the name and telephone number of the person you calling about" - I said, what kind of business are you in, he said, "I need the name and number you calling about", I said, I work at a law firm and I'm not giving you any information about my Mother, he said, "I'm glad you work in a law", and I said, me too, thank you, now what type of business are you? He said, "obviously you don't want to get ta the bottom of this", I said, the bottom of what? he said, "good bye" and hung up.
I recommend that everyone contact the Federal Trade Commission and inform the FTC about the call so that the telephone number and these thieves can be investigated, indicted, convicted and sentenced.

- Danny| 1 replyIt is very aggravating to receive this type of call.
However, I find it MORE AGGRAVATING to call the FTC and be referred to a TOOTHLESS Federally funded Consumer financial Protection Bureau-- who, despite the impressive title will DO NOTHING. When pressed, they won't even tell you what State they're based in. Feel free to call the CFPB at (855) 411-2372 and ask them why they are receiving public funds for "protection". They referred me to the Delaware BBB, which is just about a half step better than "Angie's List". I am infuriated that our system of government is so diluted they don't pursue these scammers. I guess I need to ankle bite my State Senator and Representatives in regards to both the scammers and the funding practices around bankrolling worthless Consumer Protection agencies.- Caller: Unidentified robot
- Extortion Scam Operation replies to DannyYour assuming that this is a legit company when way to many are extortion scam operations. Of course the FTC and CFB can't help when its a fake company. That job falls to others, such as the FBI etc.
