    Either reject/block the number or, if you only have caller ID, simply don't answer. These b@st@ges get paid by the call (whether someone answers or not) so they will call back over and over and over. This sort activity should be illegal as all it does it tie up the phone infrastructure while not adding a service to the community.

    Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

    Report your callers here, not just to the DNC alone:

    https://esupport.fcc.gov/ccmsforms/form1088.action
    https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2

    For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.

    "Unknown Name" and "Illinois" were on CID along with the 312#. Female ROBOT stating that "... banks have committed massive fraud ... $25B ..[reference to] legal representation .. some people have gotten their homes free and clear [presumably due to the robot's program]... Press 4 .."

    Pressed 4, but no one ever picked up call. I've heard this message before.

    Caller ID I didn't know. I have selected the option to opt out for months. Today I awaited my prey. I pressed 4 to speak to someone.

    A guy named John identified himself as "The Mortgage Help Center". I then waisted some of his time and then I told him " I do not own a home and I live in a van down by the river". Of course he hung up.

    I do not own a home but I have a civil court case pending where the defendant told me on my recorder that "he would post all of my personal information on every website, credit card app that he can imagine". These calls started shortly after so this is just one more nail in the case coffin.

    I have decided to give every telemarketer that calls me a fake name, go through the vetting process and then tell them what I stated above.

    I am a disabled, retired veteran so I can play their game. Fight fire with fire. Waste their time.

    The FCC does not actually care about complaints. I have a file folder with at least 20 complaints. I always receive the same chain letter " after investigation the FCC does not find any violations, you may wish to take civil action if you like". So after placing my cell phone on the Do Not Call List and renewing that information as required, the FCC finds no violations. What a joke! Yet our taxes still pay these folks.

    So do as I do, give fake information and waste the telemarketers time and then hit them where it hurts.

    If you've never heard of Tom Mabe look him up on YouTube, he is a very funny anti-telemarketer comedian and you can learn from him.

    ~end rant

    Just listen to the prompts and select #4. Then waste their time by giving them bogus info all the way to the end, then hit them where it hurts.

    I do not own a home and have been selecting #1 for over 6 months yet they continue to call.

    Fight fire with fire, waste their time, eventually they may get fired for not being able to scam enough people to keep them open.

    Mortgage Help Center, Chicago, IL. Yet you can't find them on Google anywhere!

    Caller ID:  XXXXXXXXXX IL   (yes, that's exactly what it displayed)

    The call went to the machine and it was a recording from G.E. HOME SECURITY.  I am sick to death of these people calling - the DNC List is useless, otherwise these sort of calls would be coming to an end.

    >>  the DNC List is useless, otherwise these sort of calls would be coming to an end.  <<

    Incorrect.
    The Do Not Call Registry is not a magic switch attached to your phone line, that will block calls.

    The DNC list can help stop calls originating from legitimate, registered telemarketers.
    * Your calls were not from legitimate, registered telemarketers.
    * Therefore, the DNC list cannot stop those calls.

                                                      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Still with us?
    Want to learn more?
    Keep reading ...
    The DNC list does not automatically block calls.  Instead, it provides a list of  "do not call" phone numbers to telemarketers who registered their businesses with the FCC, and who pay a fee for the list.  The DNC list administration is supported by these fees.
    The DNC list exempts political callers, survey organizations,  charities, and companies with preexisting business relationships, as well as debt collectors and certain nonprofit organizations, but these organizations usually have their own, internal Do Not Call list (ask them).
    The DNC list is not effective against criminals, spammers and scammers, because those telescum are not registered, do not subscribe to the DNC list, and do not care if you are on or off that list.
    It can stop calls from legitimate telemarketers, and it does a pretty good job at that.  Just think ... if there were no DNC, you would be receiving incessant calls from BOTH legitimate and spamming telemarketers!
    The DNC itself has no enforcement authority - they forward complaints to the appropriate agency.
    There is no significant drain on your tax dollar because the DNC is funded by the fees they charge registrants.
    Here is your reading assignment, if you doubt what I have stated:
    Remember, the FCC's Do Not Call site is a good one to report unwanted calls from LEGITIMATE telemarketers.   To report spammers and scammers, visit the FTC site, at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/
    Read the above sentence again.
    If you want to report a specific scam to the appropriate government site,
    Look here first:
    If the reporting site you wanted is not in the above list, try this one:
    http://phonehelp.2truth.com/complaint_sites.html
    If you receive calls even after reporting them (and waiting a sufficient time), then you should consider using a call blocker app, device or service as your first line of defense.  Google "call blocker" to see such things at Amazon or other sites.
