They left  no message when they called. I called the number, and I did not hear the phone ringing, no sound at all.

I got three phone calls from this number.

Got a call-didn't answer, they didn't leave a message.

Same as someone above...left no message. I dialed back the number and no ringing tone when calling back.

Why would you call back a number that did not leave a message for you?  People like you are perpetuating these scammers because now they have your number as "live"..................... and everyone else who calls them back or answers the call when they dont recognize the number.

Folks, do you have voice mail?  Most likely.  Then let these people leave a message if its so important.  More than 9 of 10 times you'll come to find these are just scammers.

i received a Text message from this number:+1 (312) 265-2349
The text read, "Tell me, old friend, what's up?"

No name or any other info. I'm not replying as it will indicate some type of message:
a) somebody uses this number: ok to scam
b) maybe trying to find out more info if I text back
c) trying to find out what time I'm at home or work
d) it really is an old pal from Idyllwild, CA; Durango, CO; Sedona or Tucson, AZ; or Westford, Massachusetts?
Or the Mars Hotel even...

For a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.
