Got a call from 1-323-330-1426, Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank seeking donations.Asked to be removed from mailing and phone lists.

I agree. Heritage Foundation is a wonderful organization.  I don't believe they make phone calls like this.  

Why would someone just throw out that it was the Heritage Foundation with no basis.  If that's the case, I now pronounce that it' moveon.org calling.  It's probably eivil George Soros himself on the other end of the phone.

Heritage is non profit and exempt from the do not call list.

Annoying calls from 323- 330-1426.  No messages left, just hang ups.

I called them back and spoke with a rep named Craydon, she gladly removed my phone number from their calling list.

Way to go. The Heritage Foundation is a fine organization, worthy of donations. The do a fine job to fight liberal spin and media bias.

Unfortunately, every donation to a worthy cause be it the Oregon Food Bank, Mercy Corps, or a political group, is followed by requests for more money.

NPB is in constant fund raising mode for all of 2010.

These clowns just won't stop calling all hours. I refuse to answer. Heritage must be from the donkey.

Called a few minutes ago, caller ID said "Heritage"

Hit the answer/hang up button quick on the cordless so I don't have to be annoyed by the ringing.   Some days it's tempting to answer then blow a whistle into the phone.  Maybe then they'd take a hint.

It's not the Heritage foundation, they do not operate that way. If you notice, it only says Heritage on the ID,
If you do'nt know anything about the Heritage foundation you automatically assume that is who it is., and they know that. so thats the reason they use the name.

This company called Heritage keeps calling no matter what i tell them!

Non-profits have been taking HUGE advantage of us since the law exempts them. They seem to think the more they annoy us, the better off they are..??... I don't understand their way of thinking. All I know is, if I had ever thought of giving them any money at one time, that thought flew away the first few days they started calling...

I think the law needs to be changed. It should be after you have asked them 2 or 3 times (no more than that...) to take your name off their list, and to please stop calling, that if they continue to call, then they would be in violation of the law just like the telemarketers, and would be fined and what ever else just the same as the common criminals (telemarketers).....

They have been calling me for weeks and weeks SEVERAL times a DAY. I finally had enough of it and called the number a few nights ago. I actually got to leave a message, I couldn't believe it. Any way, I left a message asking them to please take my number off their list, and to PLEASE stop calling me. And if they continued, I would be forced to complain about them to the FTC. I repeated my phone number again, said thank you and hung up...

Its after midnight now, and just realised that I haven't received  any calls from them today, NONE at all... WOW!!  I'm hoping that it wasn't just a fluke, and they missed me for just the one day..lol..  I am not holding my breath waiting to see if I make it another day without their calls though..lol..

I'm hoping, no, I'm praying, that my being polite but stern, may have done the trick the very first time..lol..  TIME will tell..lol.. Good luck to ALL of us on one day having a silent phone..lol..
