I got a call as well, answered and they hung up.

Called about 4 pm today(10/23), leaving only silence on my answering machine.  Caller ID said Arlington, MA, where I know no one, so this number is now blocked.

Picked up a call from them at 4:36 PM today. A woman asked for the person responsible for the electric bill. I asked what she wanted; she replied that she wanted some information from my electric bill. I then told her I would not give her any information, I was not interested in changing my electricity supplier, I was on the "Do Not Call" list, and I did not want to hear from her again. I disconnected the call.

Obviously a telemarketer, possibly selling an alternative energy supplier.

Called my home phone today at 12.55pm. No message left.

Bad connection so after a pause a voice said hello then the call when into a static ether.

Garden variety "lower your utilities bill" scam. Caller ID gave only phone number and "Arlington MA".

Called me and I answered and nobody talked to me... Perhaps they are robbers who want to find out if you are home!!! And when you call back the number is always giving you a busy signal.  BLOCKED THE SCHMUCKS :-) :-) :-)

Called @ 2:50 pm. Silence when I picked uo phone. We do not know anyone in Arlington.

No company name in caller ID says it all! I am glad I missed the call Pathetic Clowns

Pause, then boiler-room noises and a woman yelling "Hello?" Blocked.

I get a plethora of theses nameless fake calls. So annoying I cant understand how they can continue to call people on the Do Not Call List and when answered no one speaks on the other end. Whats the point? Why call? Ridiculous.

Why answer in any way if you don't know the number? Why call? How good are scammers without working phone numbers? Got to have an answer to know if they've got a live one.

another call from this number-we are on dnc list-still the calls come-this says arlington mass. on caller id. we never answer unrecognized nos. so thanks to all for the heads up re the electric scammers.

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.

Caller ID said Arlington, MA,  I did not answer and the answering machine picked up but the called ended, no message left .

I got to talk with a woman, waste about 5 minutes of her time.  She was trying to get info about my NationalGrid bill. Told her I don't have NG (true), that my town has a municipal electric utility (also true).  She stammered. i then every-so-politely asked that she remove my number from their calling list, that I get two or three calls from them a week, and it was really a waste of my time. And theirs!  She sweetly agreed to remove my number. I wished her a Happy New year, and hung up.

Yeah, that might work.
