Me too!  Received two calls last two days from unknown phone number and Man also with heavy Indian accent.  Man said he received an error message from my computer like others and he needed access to my computer so he could repair it.  He asked if my computer was slow and that I was running apparently a widespread virus that could cause my computer to crash.  At that point, I too started to ask a number of questions and got the run about ending the conversation with my system is running fine with no error. He at that point hung up the phone. Therefore, I goggled up your information confirming my thought on the subject.  Anyway, this scam is in NC now and I will pass the work on here. Thank guys!

People this is a scam. 9 out of 10 people in the Usa and Canada has a computer.  And Microsoft can not get your phone number from you sending them Info, like the Click to send or Not send when you have a problem with your computer.  It's a scam out of NY city, if Microsoft were to call you it would be from Richmond.

One of my Clients got called from the same people. So if you do get a call from these people and they repeat to call you over and over, call your phone company, have them back trace it or block it. If your in Canada, go over to the CRTC website and fill out a form about this. If your in the States, goto the FBI website, they have a form for people to fill out there.

I had a phone call from a foreigner in India who said that he needed to fix my computer.  I went through the routine trying to learn while he was giving me commands saying that my computer had a virus slowing it down.  It showed me errors and warnings.  I said that I had virus protection, so I was suspicious from the get go.

Then you come to a window that has a button to go remote:
When you click it, it asks for email, name and phone #.
Then they ask for you credit card and that is when I hung up.

Then I Yahoo-ed Support click Scam and man there were several links saying not to fall for it as they would take over your computer taking all your information and placing their own virus in place.

Just got another call from these scum sicking pigs from H---!"Robert Williams" called last week from "tech support with Microsoft". Wanted me to give him access to my computer to fix a "serious virus" that I have. The serious virus' are spyware, malware and cookies. I said "I'm NOT stupid, these are NOT viruses. I delete cookies when I exit the internet and I clean the spyware and malware up myself". He got ticked when I told him there's no way I was going to give him access to my computer to fix a problem that doesn't exist!  Today, I get another call from "tech support". Before he could go into his song and dance, I cut him off at the knees. Told him I heard the pitch last week and it's a scam. I want my number removed from their files immediately.  He said "OMG! He told you what? NO, it wasn't us! We are NOT connected with Microsoft and I am not calling to tell you  that you have a problem.  I am calling to ask if you are having a problem!" He asking who this guy was and what he said, yada, yada, yada and then said, "That call did NOT come from us!  It had to have come from another company!"  I got his number, went online and said "Yup, it was you alright.  Same number, same company and I bet I will see my other message on this site that I'm looking at right now!"  He as supposedly removing my number and got nervous when I told him I have all the info from the last call, was adding his name and to my list and I was going to be giving the information to the Attorney General's office this week.  Also told him our number is on the Federal Do Not Call list and they are in direct violation of Federal Law!  Don't think this will stop it, but I at least I made him nervous. Maybe next time I will tell them I'll tell them I'm recording the call and will turn it over to the Feds.

I just had the same experience. He wanted me to call back right away. He said that i was having computer troubles and needed to turn my computer on righ away and he could walk me through the fix. He told me to call him back at 800-698-9034 and then he also gave me 347-298-3770.

Same as all previous callers, have been receiving these calls off and on for approx. 1 yr. Contacted California Public Utilities Comm. who then referred me to the Federal Trade Comm. (1-877-382-4357), who took my complaint. Once they receive enough complaints they will be able to take action these clowns.

I just received a call from these guys.  Same M. O. as the others.  Claimed they could help me with a computer that I am NOT currently having trouble with.  Refused to give me a phone number, or their last names.  Wanted me to log into www.logmein123.com and they would "fix everything".  When I asked how much I had to pay to take care of this they tried to tell me it was free unless my warranty was expired.  Yeah, right.  I told them my brother had his degree in IT and that he would fix any problems with my computer.  I hate people like this.  Sorry I couldn't get a number to call back. My phone simply said "unknown caller".  I am writing from NC.  Ugh!!

I have been had by supportonclick. 347-289-3770 was given to me as a number to call if I needed further assistance with my computer. I was sold a 2 year subscription for 215.00. Now I find out this was a scam.I had sent a email to micro soft support the day before about my computer running slow. The next day this indian guy called and said they work with microsoft, to make along story short I fell for it.

I have been following this with interest since they caught me with a trap.

Today somebody on a group I use said that Supportonclick (or SOC using a new name!) had phoned claiming to be Microsoft.

This company works in three ways.:

1 Cold Calling claiming they are your ISP provider or Dell or Microsoft etc.

2 Internet Traps - They plant fake links that give them access to your computer. These are usually very cleverly thought out so as to appear to be bona fide. Examples include private messages sent from other members of bulletin boards or forums with links to click.  
They get info from your PC and then ring you calling you by a name they find on your PC. They tell you you have a problem and your ISP has asked them to call.

3 Warm calls resulting from tip offs from legitimate call centre workers in India who give them details of people who have reported faults or other matters to do with computers. They must pay the informant for these tips.

In all cases they want to gain remote access to your computer which they do by asking you to connect to an internet site.logmein123.

Stories about what they do range from stealing of personal details to keeping the PC infected to keep giving them a reason for charging the customer.

Discovered today that my 85 yr.old mother paid $265.00 to the enquiry support on click when she advised me they had called today while I was out, saying her service with them was about to expire and did she want to renew?  I called the no. back and got an Indian sounding man who put me on hold, checked her "account" by phone no. and e-mail address and advised the money paid was for a 3 yr. plan that began in 2009 so was not expired yet. This payment was paid in 2009 by credit card, anyone had problems with that credit card being used by them????

Supportonclick is a huge scam - they just called me.  Stupidly, I went along with his questions until he wanted money to continue.  Ya, okay sure.  DO NOT GET SCAMMED!

Got call from this number stating they are publishers clearing house rep who want $300 and then the person accepted $134

THIS IS A SCAM. Read about the your-PC-is-infected scam here http://news.softpedia.com/news/Cold-Call-Tech ... on-150170.shtml They lie about your PC sending out malware, error messages, etc., and say your PC is about to crash to frighten you into giving them remote control of your PC to fix the nonexistent problem (don't let them!). If they ask you to open the systems tab in eventvwr.msc to see all the errors, these harmless errors are *normal* for any Windows PC (mine has several and it runs just fine). Don't let them take control of your PC because they can download *real* malware, possibly a malware suite, that can spam, steal bank logins and personal info, etc. If they've remoted into your PC, the safest fix is to re-format your drive and re-install your OS assuming you have clean backups of your data. You can try scanning with various antivirus software but scanning may not find all the malware. If you don't know how, get help from friends or pay a local shop to do it. THIS IS A SCAM.
