Yes that is the thickest Indian accent I have heard and the name is Tomas O Donnell.  Right. Hope nobody falls for it but just know the IRS will not demand immediate payment, accept cash only, nor does one get jailed for a year without a hearing, trial, or being served papers.

    Me Too
I was also called by this number. It was a lady claiming to be from the legal department of the US Treasury. She said she was calling regarding a legal issue and that I should contact her immediately. I've been alive long enough to know that the IRS sends you mail and that it is usually your responsibility to contact them, not the other way around.

First I got the lady robot every day for a week from the irs and now I'm getting a robot man talking about an account, maybe an estate account?  I'm supposed to call right away, Oh my I 'll be in trouble if I don't.  They are such an insult to our intelligence.  Hope they stop calling real soon.  They're relentless.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Do something called nothing, other than ignoring unknown numbers in all ways. Hear nothing from anyone that way. The caller likely is not in the US and their intent is to threaten you enough to scare you into paying a bogus fee.

First I got one from a number in Houston, TX. I new it was a scam. I called back and I said, "may I help you?" She said that she was here to help me and asked me my name. I asked her her name and she yelled, "OH, SHUT UP!" Into the phone. And hung up. Somehow I found myself more offended that she said to shut up so rudely instead of giving me a "scam" call. Oh well, I ended up laughing over it and praying that no poor insuspecting person falls for her/their scam. I would report it, but I've been told that there is nothing anyone can do.

    Scam
Received a call this morning from a Stacy White, with a strong Indian accent.  She asked for my father by his legal name, which throws up a red flag for our family.  I told her he was not available and if I could take a message.  She said she was calling from the Department of Legal Affairs regarding a suit that has been filed against him.  She then gave me this number (347) 809-6947 asked me to repeat to her and to have my father call her immediately.  She was speaking very fast trying to just give me her information, but I slowed her down because I found this call suspicious.  I asked if a letter or letters have been sent regarding this information.  She answered yes and when I asked her the dates, she said she could not provide this information to me.  I then asked for a case or reference number and she told me there wasn't one.  I then asked again confirming she was calling from Department of Legal Affairs and her name and she starting getting agitated.  She then just spat out to have him call and hung up.  I asked my mother if we had received any documents for this "issue", and she confirmed my suspicions by answering no.

Question these people and check your references before giving these people any information or money.

Called from (347) 809-6947 and they reported to be from the IRS and had basic information about me. They claimed I had a serious tax issue and I would be arrested immediately if I didn't go to the bank and withdraw $4,000 cash only. I asked what to do once I got the money and she said further instruction would follow. After I asked to speak with a supervisor they put on a female (again with Indian accent). She started yelling that I was not cooperating and would be arrested immediately. At this point it was clear this was a scam. I hope no one falls for this sad scam
