Started getting calls today. Says IRS after you pry it out but doesn't sound like a business number.

Received call today, stated IRS been trying to contact you that they are in the process of law suit.  Tried to call number back, no answer.

They called twice, recording both times telling me to call the same number back.  I'm evidently a target of the IRS with a lawsuit aginst me.  Well, that's very funny.  I am a Tax Professional and have been for 41 years.  Annually I must satisfy IRS CPE and other training to be in business.  The IRS would have contacted me by now if this is legitimate by mail first.  I'm not worried.  They should be worried.  Victims may call 1-800-366-4484 which is the Treasury Dept. Inspector General for Tax Administration-IRS Arrest phone calls.  However, that line will always be busy taking complaints.

Could bearly make out what the message I got from this number, but sounded like she was saying I had and arrest warrant in my name( but didn't state my actual name) and I should call this number to stop possible legal actions. I did not call the number back!!!

I also got a message from this number, and apparently I also had an arrest warrant in "my name."  I did call the number back, thinking they had the wrong number, but they didn't answer, and had no voice mail set up.  It just rang.  Who doesn't have voice mail these days?!  So what's the point of them calling if they don't talk to you?

Same scenario a few minutes ago. As others stated, IRS won't call first and agents always provide their name and agent number when speaking with them.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Got a call from what sounded like a foreigner from the Asian descent, she said was with IRS about a lawsuit call 380-861-4620.
