Alleged private investigator seeking "your side" of a supposed fraud issue; left via pre-recorded message.

Said to call back or have lawyer to call back regarding fraud "seeking my side", but left no number.  The number 404-996-1953 on caller ID.  I called the number back and a pre-recorded message said to wait for a representative after lots of rings.  Then I got another recorded message after several rings that no one was availab.e

Have no idea who or what this alleged investigator is talking about.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

Repeated harrassing phone calls and threats of legal action. Submitting to Attorney General and FBI.gov whatever that will do.

Stop calling me this an unlisted phone number

operson named Shelly McNeil or whatever, saying she was a private investigator...calls my pay-as-you-go phone, leaves a recorded voice mail, I'm sick of these calls!!

I have gotten 2 calls from this number and it keeps saying shelly mcneal she needs to get my side of the story

Got the same recorded message:  This is PI Shelly McNeal and I have you listed as a subject in an active fraud investigation.  This is an extremely important time sensitive matter.  And, I need to speak with you or your retained attorney immediately to get your side of the story.  Please call me immediately upon receiving this message.

This scamming [***] should be beaten severely, then shot and set on fire.

I get the exact same message, word for word!  But, have you guys noticed that P. I. Shelly McNeal does not leave her phone number (just in case) you might, perhaps, want to call her back?  This s*** is ruining my life!

I get this same call at LEAST once a day! Why is it our government can spy and listen in on every day people doing what they can to survive in the right way and they can't take the time to stop or catch these morons from harassing tax paying citizens!!!  

We have gotten the same call from this number the person they are looking for no longer lives in the state  and they are calling my mom"s phone and she is 87 years old also someone from their company supposity a poccess server called and wanted to know how to get ahold of this person  I didn't know that if you are being served legal papers they would let you know in advance

Yes, I have repeated recieved several calls from Atlanta and DC, US saying that I had been going to be reported for
fradulent activity and information was being downloaded to my state.

To have a attorney present with my call.. I called back and it just said party not available leave a message..

Or a Karen Rogers or another woman stating she was calling from the DA's office to collect money for
a fradulent activity I had done.
This needs to be stopped, they think its funny when we ask who or where any paperwork is, and
will never give information but want us to pay them money..

Keep getting calls from them.  I asked detailed information that they will not answer.  Then they turn rude and hang up.  First it was called "Charles Barkley & Associates" then 10 minutes later I call back it's Bloomberg & Associates.  If it's been 2 years and I haven't responded to your requests proceed instead of threatening me every 6 months.

I received same call, same number, different name - Robert Marshall.  Sounds like they recorded the message that was left.

I just received a phone call from 404-996-1953 stating that they are investigating a fraudulent transaction with my name and that I need to call back for them hear my side of the story and I should have an attorney present for the call.  The message left sounded sort of robotic the guy that called is Robert Marshall (he stated Whitecaller division).  WEIRD and creepy.  Anyone else with these calls?

I keep getting calls from 404-996-1953 stating they are a investigative service. I have asked them to stop calling, but they continue to call.

My side of the story is plain and simple, your are an idiot if you think I am going to be intimidated by you. This number has been blocked from my phone. These people will keep calling until they get the right person to send them money. I am not one of those people.

This phone number keeps calling.  A different person leaves there name(last one was Karen Rogers) and said that are investigating a financial crime.  I had local sheriff call them and they hang up on him.  They want your side of the story. This has bee identified as a phone scam.

They are scammers. There is not a lot anyone can do about but ignore them.
