Calls on 8/4/2007 and 8/9/2007 still on CallerID. At least 6 calls prior to that. Filed complaints with both www.donotcall.gov and the FCC.

Should have mentioned that I have waited and pressed 8 to supposedly be removed every other time. This time I pressed 1 to "schedule and appointment". A woman answered Best Carpets. Before I finished my sentence, "Why are you calling my number on the do not call list?" she hung up on me.

I've gotten at least a half-dozen calls from this company... First the recording plays, then I talk to a person who says they are from "Best Carpet" and hang up if I try to get more information.

    Calls:
08/03/07 3:50pm PDT  Didnt pick up because of the 555 prefix.
08/07/07 4:52pm PDT  Picked up to press 8.  Was immediately disconnected.
08/10/07 6:38pm PDT  Picked up and pressed 1 to inquire as to what business
this was and how they had a record of a "prior business relationship".  Phone was answered by a woman saying "Best Carpets"; no personal name given.  She asked when I wanted to schedule my appointment.  I asked what the prior business relationship was.  She snorted and hung up on me.

Sounds pretty much just like the typical experience.

We are also on the DNC, and I have contacted San Mateo county DA's office about these same telemarketers.  They switch their Caller ID phone numbers, and when you ask to be removed, you never are.  Next, when you press 1 "to set an appointment," they will hang up on you if you ask them to be removed.

Yeah, google and call 888-279-6050.  This is "Carpet Cleaners" / "Allison Carpet" etc.  Sick of these guys calling me too...we're on the Do Not Call List.  Make sure to report them at www.donotcall.gov.  Then, report them to the DA of San Mateo county in charge of consumer affairs.  Supposedly they are located in Palo Alto, CA, according to http://local.yahoo.com/details?fr=dd-local-tl ... uOIedy9AwDxzl57

Same as many others listed, received unsolicited call from Allison carpet cleaning despite my being on the DNC. Is anyone in government trying to stop this nuisance?

I have gotten these calls several times in the past few weeks, even after I press "2" to have my # removed.  I have two phone lines and they both ring at the same time.  Must be a fast speed dialer at work!

They have been calling my DNC number for months.  They used to display a legitimate looking number which I reported to DNC every time.  Now they display a clearly bogus number on CID.

This may not be strictly a Bay Area problem.  I stumbled across an L.A. number (213)221-1021 that has been reported to this site and the M.O. sounds similar -- recorded message, Best Carpet Cleaning, hung up on if more info is requested.

At this point, I think this may be more of a phishing scam to get credit card or other personal info from their "customers".  I tend to doubt there is any sort of company on the other end.  Certainly not a legitimate one.

Got sick of the calls so here is what I do. If we all did it, these guys maybe would quit. Set up an appointment with them and when they arrive, usually without any cleaning supplies, tell them there must be some mistake, and send them packing. Lets all start wasting their time for a change.

Don't fill out any paper work these guys wave at you. It has nothing to do with cleaning your carpets. If you speak russian that will help. When they call each other and they don't think you will understand, one can pick up some very usefull information, like names and the fact that they operate out of Oakland.
