This number calls and says they are a law firm, and states my name, ss#, and business name, and tells me they are coming to arrest me and that i am going to jail for 6 months

I too got a call from this number saying that they were a law firm who said that I owed a payday loan? Im like I have never had a payday loan nor do I even really know what it is. They then ask for my last four of my social and im like i do not feel comfortable telling you my information. They said that was the only way they could look up why I had to call them back for? they knew my social as well. I did not tell them it all and they could tell me it. This really worries me but I called them back and told them I knew it was a scam and they got mad and hung up on me. I called back again and the same guy answered and said he would send me paperwork and hung up automatically. They would not answer the call several times in between when I tried calling them. Then not even an hour and half later, I get a call saying I won a Free Government Grant and they worked for the Government, I just hung up not to mention all of them foreigners so how does that work and they hang up when you dont respond. I have also had calls from people saying I qualify for a loan and what not, this happened first like the last 3 days and then now these two calls. They are scams, no one take them serious and give out too much information. I know im looking into it because no one should know your social. This will not be handled calmly.

Kept getting calls from this number asking for my lawyer or me to call them back and it was a serious matter so i call them back and it sounds like a bunch of racket in the background and it's a foreigner on the phone that can barely speak english saying I took out a payday loan and they had my social which i did not give them but i knew it was a scam because i had no payday loans out nor had i taken any out!! I told them if they call my cell phone ONE MORE TIME they would hear from my lawyer and th cops!! They were like ok we will not call you again!! I said you will not scam me out of my money!! DO NOT LISTEN TO ANYTHING THEY SAY THEY ARE SCAMMING YOU!!!

I also recieved a phone call from this number today,(9/19/2012).I knew immediatly this was a scam because it was a woman with a "Heavy" accent claiming her name was Jenny Jones. Come on........I called her out immediatly  and said if your Jenny Jones I'm Joe Blow!!!!!!!!! This didn't affect her a bit and she still tried to pull off something like "Do you know there's 3 cases against you and your social sec. number.? I need to get info from you, what is your lawyers name? blah blah blah" It was scarey because she repeated my last 4 digits of my Soc. number, knew my address etc. She said to call a lawyer at a number which was coincidently the same number(but I didn't know until i got off phone and checked I.D.) that she was calling from. She said to call Michael Carter and I had to call right away. Of course I told her I had to report the number first to the FCC and I wasn't stupid and she could take her scam and "SHOVE-IT". Please report this nu8mber if you get a call. You can always do a reverse call look-up for free. It will give you the location and what kind of number like landline etc. for FREE. Go to (Phone Detective).......When I did it, the number is from a landline in Stinson Beach, Bolina's CA. The phone # is 415-952-3898.

i also got a call exactly like yours and the lady told me my ss#, address, bank acct. #, fverything. she also told me she was going to apply for loan after loan after loan. what did you do? cause i dont want my name drug thru the mud, since they have all my info.

I keep getting the same call from the same number at home and cell.its getting annoying

GOT A PHONE CALL TODAY FROM THESE PEOPLE AND THEY CALLED MY CELL & THEN MY WORK PHONE! I WILL NOT BE CALLING THEM BACK BECAUSE I KNOW I DON'T HAVE ANY CASES AGAINST ME! I just had a voicemail on my cell and it was an Indian man claiming to have a case against me and to call my lawyer and to call them back now. I called back 4 times and no answer. I finally got a woman to answer (another Indian) and she told me that I would be arrested at 11:00 am tomorrow for unpaid payday loans. I told her I have never had a payday loan in my life and she said the sheriffs department would be contacting me. I called my father who works for our local sheriffs department as captain and he ran a search and said there was nothing in the system at all showing a warrant or that I would be arrested at all. SCAM do not fall for it.

Please do not call my job anymore !!!!

I just got a call, could not understand most of what he was saying, he said his name was Ben Williams, i told him to hold while contacted the sheriffs office, he quickly said goodbye!!

I too just got a call from a female with a thick indian accent stating she was from Dept of Legal Affairs and Investigations out of San Francisco, CA asking the name of my attorney.  She stated I had a $400 payloan from a long time ago (she could not provide me with any dates) and failed to pay and now I was being sued by Cash America USA.  I was going to be arrested at my job on Monday at 11:00am by the sheriff.  I asked how the sheriff is going to take me to CA to appear in court and she indicated that the sheriff would have all the information.  she repeated all my contact info and full SSN (really scary) and to call 415-952-3898 if I have any more questions. She said the line was being recorded and this was my sworn affidavid. I have also called the phone # numerous times since we got off the phone and not one answers.
I immediately called my local authorities and filed a police report.

I received a call from the same number son Saturday stating that they were from the Dept of Legal Affairs and Investigations out of San Francisco, CA.  The lady stated that I would be arrested and I will admit I was very distraught and nervous.  I tried to obtain information in regards to my payday loan and she refused to give me any information and said it would be in the paperwork provided to me once I was picked up.  Then she went on tell me if I didnt pay it in full I would be forced to stay in jail for 3 months and then I would need to find a way to San Francisco to appear before a judge.

Dude, no [***] this number just called me 5 times in the last hour... I'm bout ready to tell them to go [***] themselves.... lmao... Idk who they are, or why they are calling me.

*****NEVER, volunteer any information to any persons. If a person is a legit company seeking payments on a debt, then they MUST, show proof of this debt by letter. Not email, Not by discussing it over the phone or Vmail. I would simply say, send me information about this matter, you have my name and number and social so i'm sure u have my address so just mail me the info. *****

*****Again         NEVER   EVER EVER.....   Volunteerly give out any information.*****  Also if you take a payday loan  they have to give you a chance to pay it back, even its $5 a week. They have to accept it... They even have to accept $1...  If you look on the $1 Bill (US CURRENCY)  It says "This note is legal tender for all debt). They cannot refuse a payment even if it so little...     However... I think these guys from this number are scammers, so just beware!

yes this lady called my work on the weekend and left a message that it was an urgent matter to call them back, will I did and left a very nasty message. I told them that  I reported the number to the my local police,
my state's Attorney General and The FTC. That if the calls did not stop I was going to notify the internet crime complaint center and file  harassment charges against them.

This is a criminal extortion ring operating out of India. ABC News released an investigative report on it in June. The FTC has indicted one of its ringleaders for criminal fraud:

I've had this same call since friday on my husband and my #'s, saying i will have a lawsuit against me and would not tell me who or what they were. I've called the number back multiple times and no answer just beeps so i assume it is a voicemail and have left messages saying if you will call me back and prove to me what you are i would be happy to do what i need to do. Then my husband found this on google so i will not be worried about them anymore but will be doing something to stop them!

These people just called me and said that I was being arrested for some payday loans and the sherriff was coming to arrest me on 9/25/12 and when I called them out they hung up the phone and never answered again I still have the voicemail on my phone for evidence , I wish that you can find these preditors and arrest them. Obviously they are some kind of con artists and need to be apprehended before they do or already did do some one financial harm

I got several phone calls from this scammer. Should I report this number to local police? The same crap they said from you guys/gals. What should I do? It seems they have my personal information, ss#, etc.

Very crafty little [***]. He told me it was a "very cool" way of asking for his address. Damn, he's right on it!  Whoops, can't help you all. Other than tell you he's full of it. Another ball of dung...gone!
