Got a call from an Unknown number showing up on the caller ID, telling that "this call is from IRS and IRS has issued an arrest warrant against your name. To find out more about this call 425-996-0477". I know it is bogus, because I do not have to file any taxes.

I just got a call from the same unidentified caller with the same message. I have filed my tax properly, so it's bogus.

Just received a call from an "Unknown" number. Automated system said it was the IRS calling stating they had been trying to contact me and that they were suing me and told me to call 425-996-0477 immediately. This is not the first call I've received a BOGUS call from the IRS. The last time I did return the call, all the foreign speaking person wanted to know was my social security number. I immediately hung up. Don't fall victim to these scum bags out there. Makes me sick to think how many people may be intimidated by these calls. DON'T FALL FOR IT!!!!!!!!!

Just got a call like what Carol got. Also was called about a month ago for the IRS phone scam, and filed a police report and fraud alert in case those scum bags wanted to try anything.

I just received a call a second ago as mentioned above. I don't know why these number keeps contacting me but he wouldn't tell me what was going on and only wanted my social security. Fortunately, for me I don't give out my s.s. over the phone nor do I have any issues with the IRS.

This number keeps calling in hopes of being able to extort money from you. Do not answer or return their calls. Block them if you have the capability.

I too received this call, when I called back they answer the phone IRS. They asked for my name and number that was called. I asked are you the internal revenue service. He said No. I continued to press and the phone line went dead. I am reporting this to the attorney general in my state.

Automated message saying to call this number back because IRS was preparing to file a lawsuit against me.  I always pay taxes and go through a CPA.  Obviously a scam

I just got a call by a person with a deep accent claiming to be a Mathew Jones from the San Diego County Sheriff's Office indicating that I was supposed to call a Mr. Michael Block from the IRS at 425-996-0477 about a supposed tax violation.  I told the person that his call appeared to be fraudulent.  He then threatened to send a sheriff to my home with an arrest warrant.  I told him to go ahead.   He then hung up.  The originating number was 1-858-974-2002.

sorry - just couldn't resist - I called them and asked where my refund was.  He was ?? Refund? what refund? I was -you know my tax refund - this is the IRS right?  He said yes, and I said - oh and what was your name?? uh Internal Revenue Service...and then Mike..and then I asked for emp ID number, and he said why - and I said, cuz every IRS employee has an ID number...so he made one up.  I then said - oops - I forgot to tell you - I work for the IRS..you're busted now

Just received the same call and hung up immediately.  Such a scam.  No IRS problems!

Ok, had to call it ...I sweat this one on my kid..they threatened to "cut my f'ng bloody balls off" and a few other nice ditties when I questioned if they were the real IRS and to prove it. So I laughed sadistically (as I am a women dumbasses) and told me you are messing with the wrong one this is a federal officer you just called. LOL  The number was 425-996-0477

Just received a message from an unknown caller saying that they had been trying to reach me because the IRS is suing me.  The number is 425-996-0477.  I called back on a different phone, which I think confused them.  When I gave my name, they seemed even more confused, put me on hold, then the phone disconnected.

Said the IRS had a law suit filed against me and I must call this number immediately. When I did, it didn't go through with the message, "this cell phone number is currently unavailable. Try again later."

I was woken from a nap from a phone call that gave me this 425-996-0477 number to call. The "agent" i spoke to was named "Thomas O'Brien." I unfortunately gave them my social. So I signed up for lifeloc. Was wondering if I should go file a police report.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Thanks for the info. Already filed with the FTC and signed up for Lifeloc. About to head to the police station to file a report.

I got the same thing for Chesterfield, Va. Number called from was 804-748-1261 a local number. I asked for the address so I could come to the office about this.  Said would send Police here and hung up. Called at 8:30 EST.
