- DudeReceived a call from a very persistent, argumentative, and English challenged individual saying that he was from Microsoft maintenance. I was on to his scam from the second I picked up the phone and continued to tell him I was not interested. After I hung up on the conversation, he called back, Twice! Even more persistent that he wasn't selling anything. First call back went to answer machine, second call back - I answered. I repeatedly insisted on his name, call back number, and extension. He offered nothing and hung up. Has not called back. It's a shame people fall for these tactics.
- Caller: "Microsoft maintenance"
- Dave replies to KathyThey called me about 1 month ago about a problem w my computer. I had upgraded to windows 10 and was getting pop- ups. He started telling all kinds of stuff about a mallard and wanted to know if I had any credit cards beginning w 5 or 6. Hung up on him. Brought my lap top to a tech, back to w7. I had been hacked and had fraudulent charges against 3 or 4 accounts. He just called again today (2/6) and I hung up on him. What do I do..phone no. was 1-483-257-3569
- DaveRcvd a call from this no. Told no and hung up on him. English definitely not 1st or 2nd language.
- Caller: Microsoft
- Olive| 1 replyJust got a call from this number. Did not answer. They left a voicemail which consisted of a non-native English speaker saying "Hello, Hello" over and over to my voicemail. Genius. They can't even tell a real person from a machine !
- Olive replies to OliveI just (2 weeks ago) switched to Charter. Wondering if that is the connection?
- Annajust received a call from a guy (very poor English) asked me what keys I have on the bottom-left of my computer. Said there was a problem with my "windows software". I have a MAC - hung up on him. Scammer - probably from India (accent).
- Sammythis is what you get when you move all service center to India and let the locals steal the database information. They will scam every penny you have. bring back the jobs to US, no more Indian programmer and service center.

Enough with calling my cell phone; it's Every Day now! Today, random call #3 was from area code 483 (which apparently doesn't exist), so that automatically means SCAM in my book. Didn't pick up the call; no message left. Yes, I blocked them- but who will try and bug me tomorrow, I wonder? >:( - Jim in MarylandSurprise. Caller left a message -- sort of. A young male voice with a slight accent said, "Hello . . . hello . . . hello" before hanging up. Supposedly area code 483 is not assigned, which suggests a spoofed "untraceable" number, which suggests SCAM.
- Caller: Unknown Name
- Liz kRec'd call from 483-257-3569. No one acknowledged my answering the phone so I hung up. Googled number and decided to report. Why can't they devote to doing something legal?
- Caller: N/a
- Savvy computer guy in GAJust called - identified himself as "Ricky Lee". Said he was calling about my computer. Heard about this scam on the news - so I told him I didn't own one.
- gramsCalled around 7:25, said hello twice to my answering machine. Caller ID said "unavailable." I never answer calls from unknown numbers. Scam!
