Called Verizon (twice) -- first to get 562-289-8136 blocked and was met with "Sorry, can't do."  Second, they recommended going to www.donotcall.gov and registering my daughter's phone #.  I've done this before w/my own #, works great so did.  Then found this website & read about everyone else having to endure this crap -- I called back Verizon and asked how my young daughter's number came into the hands of these jerks that are calling.  The rep said "They were looking into it as they have had tons of customers calling."  I gave them the contact info listed here.

If you have VERIZON, call 611 and COMPLAIN!  If they get thousands of calls they will do something!  Best of luck all.

Telemarketing to a wireless device is illegal without the permission of the device owner. Go to this site to read it for yourself:  http://www.fcc/cgb/complaints_tcpa.html  Then click on the link to go to Form 1088 and file a complaint every time you receive one of these calls.  I have received seven calls from 562-289-8136 and have filed a complaint on every one.

First, numerous calls to my cell phone from 630-689-2846, now 562-289-8136. I continue to file complaints with the FCC, FTC and State of Ct. Verizon is doing nothing in my opinion, provides no help. My cell phone number is very recent. How can citizens identify where this is coming from and our Federal agencies continue to take zero action. Where is the FBI, why is this illegal activity being ignored by our Government.  630-689-2846 has been reported since September 2007, perhaps earlier, is our Goverment powerless and unable to investigate and take out these spammers?
I would like to see a comment from the FCC,FTC,FBI,and Verizon representatives posted to this website.

I called the number for DigitCom Services listed here and they are claiming that it is another company pirating their phone records.  They were unable to give me any other info besides this phone number (800)461-6675 and I called and asked them who they were and what their problem was with calling cell phones.  The gentleman said his name was Trey Parker (which happens to be the name of one of the "South Park" creators by the way) and his company's name was AFT Technologies and Phone Services.  I asked that my number be remvoed and he said they had been having problems with the number 562-289-8136.  Whatever, dude.

Well, we called Digicom listed on one of the other comment pages.  The gal was less than friendly, barely spoke English and basically told us that she "couldn't" remove us from her list.  After a WHOLE bunch of threats of a lawsuit, she gave up the following information and agreed to remove our number from their database.

These folks are a telemarketing firm that is basically selling out everyone's numbers.  We are filing a report with the Better Business Bureau (which seemed to "worry" the gal on the other line).  We have Nextel so everytime they leave a pre-recorded message about our "warranty expiring" (even though we dont' have a vehicle with a warranty!!), it costs US usage time.  Erg!

Unknown since I got too upset to actually listen to the call.  I've received five of these calls now.  I hung-up on the first one because it sounded like a recording.  The next time they call (if they do) I'll listen to the whole thing and make notes.  It's illegal to send a recorded message to a cell phone (at least for commercial purposes) unless you gave someone permission to do so.  The FCC needs to know the name of the person, company, what they are selling, and the phone number, etc. - in other words they need to know everything.  I don't know what is the minimum amount of info is that they need to know.  If the call is a scam, then I was told to contact the FTC. I'll post more if I get anywhere.

These people are getting really annoying... glad I'm not alone.

it ends up that many cell phone companies are selling wireless phone numbers. If you want them to stop you can go on Google and type in DO NOT CALL REGISTRY FOR CELL PHONES and add the phone number to it. They will stop calling and if they don't you are allowed to sue them for up to $500 for damages.

Don't reply using your phone! Use a pay phone if you can find one. The company probably uses caller id & then sells your  number to other companies after you call in...

Both my wife and I got a call on our cells at 7:25 and 8:03, we did not answer them, no message was left.

I just did such a search and found information saying that no such site exists - there is no separate DO NOT CALL registry for cell phones.  The original national registry (www.donotcall.gov) is the registry for all phones, cell phones included.

I just registered my cell phone because I've been getting these annoying phone calls every day for the past month.  The registry says that the calls should stop within a month.

Calling them back and getting the recording saying they will remove you from the list apparently does NOT work, because I just a got another call from the same number.  Filing a complaint with the donotcall.gov website produced this message:

WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCEPT YOUR COMPLAINT

The phone number 562-289-8136 was registered on January 29, 2008. Companies may call you for up to 31 days after that date. You may file a complaint if a company calls you after February 29, 2008.

got 7 times already. SOmetimes at 4am..

I have received calls from the 562 number since I got my new phone number in the beginning of January. My husband got a hold of their machine and was able to add my number to the do not call list. Low and behold they call 3 days later and almost every singe day since then.  They usually call while I'm at work so when I have a chance to call the number back I get a message saying, "You have been taken off our preferred calling list, good bye." And they hang up. So just today I added my phone number to the do not call registry hopefully that helps... in a month! This is way too long to have to wait for any results so I went to the FCC at https://esupport.fcc.gov/form1088/1088gform.do and you can report telemarketers who you have asked to take you off their list but are still calling.  Not sure what kind of results I will get but at least I don't have to wait a whole month to complain.  

BTW-this website also has a number you can call and complain or even e-mail or fax a complaint, which ever is most convenient.  Hope this lengthy message helps!

I received a call from this number 562-289-8136 2 minutes after a call from 586-218-1104. It was for auto warranty. It was the same lady answering. I asked her what company it was. She said Grade Atlantic Warranty. They apparently use different names.
