Received a call from this number at 8:26 a.m. on Monday, 11 March 2013.  Caller ID said OPERATION LOOKOUT and the number, which is from the Phoenix, Arizona area.  I know no one in Phoenix and have never heard of such an organization, so I never answered.  The phone rang only 3 or 4 times, which is usually the sign of a telemarketer.

Three rings and a hangup. My caller ID also said OperstionLookout, so we have a new telemarketer or scam operation in the Phoenix area.

That last number is Larry Miller Toyota, which has called me many times, but I didn't report it before because I thought it was something else.  But I have no business with them, and they're calling in groups and with the same patterns as the other scam calls, so they go on the list.

I suspect these may be part of the same scam organization that stuck my number in their auto-dialer a year ago and has been harassing me ever since.  More detail and numbers that have been bombarding me with calls are listed in my posts here:

Received call this morning at 7:45 am from 602-714-9693/Operation Outlook.  Did not answer.  Googled the name--National Center for Missing Youth website.  Looks legit but but considering I live in the Phoenix area and this is a Phoenix area code they should have better sense than calling so early.  Do Not Call list is a joke.

Caller id said operation look out.  I looked it up and it a missing child organization.. I was looking on websites on missing children like AMW and then I received the call a day or 2 later.

I received a call from this number on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at 8:07 a.m.  They left no message.  I called the number back, and I received a recorded message on behalf of the Children's Cancer Recovery Foundation (CCRF).  I was invited to leave a voice mail message, but then was informed that the voice mail system was full, and that I should try again later.  Doing further research, I discovered that the CCRF is headquartered in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, which would account for them not knowing what time it is in Arizona (hint:  We do not observe Daylight Saving Time, so you need to make the appropriate adjustment).  The telephone number also appears to be a spoof ID that is used by other charities, as indicated by the messages above.  I found this information on CCRF http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=6911 which indicates that only 65.5% of the revenue collected goes to their charitable program, and the rest goes to administrative expenses and solicitation expenses.

Received a call just past 0800 hours on a Saturday morning, so  I checked the "charity" on Charity Navigator. OPERATION LOOKOUT spends only $1 out of every $5 collected on any  efforts to help locate lost or missing children. This group will lead callers to think they are with the (legitimate) national organization until AFTER the caller has provided personal information.

DO NOT RESPOND TO THESE SCAMMERS !!

rec'd call @ 8:50 am. Caller ID said OPERATION LOOKOUT so I did not answer. It hung up on my answering machine, so I am thinking it is a scam like all the ones listed below. I am local in Phoenix, so I thought it was a bit early as well for a business type call...........

The # 602-714-9693 is a boiler room operation keeping up to 85% of collected funds for CCRF. Please check "Telemarketeter Review" for a good look at these scumbags.

called at 7:10 during dinner-- didn't answer . . .subsequent reqview is Operation Outlook - - scammers . . .Stick with the National Council for Missing and Exploited Children NCMEC in Washington DC . . .they're the real deal.

Received a call at 7:18pm....Operation Outlook. Glad I did not answer. Why do we have a Do Not Call List if we still get these type of calls? How can a person report calls of this type? If they are legit wouldn't they leave a message? Interesting......beware.

I got a call from this number and caller id identified it as Childrens Cancer.

Unfortunately, any group calling themselves a non-profit charitable organization is exempt from the Do Not Call List, which by the way is useless!

Folks, don't assume a call is from your area just because the caller ID indicates that.  Google Voice enables subscribers to choose phone numbers with any area code, regardless of his or her location. The call you receive could have originated in Mongolia!

Not only have they not quit calling. They said that they only accept credit cards and do not accept checks.

It came in today, August 26, 2013, 9:02 AM; the Caller ID showed Children's Cancer ... I was not home and I no longer own an answering machine. I have to suspect it was a telemarketer. After reading the other postings, it would appear whoever is really calling has changed their name somehow.

BTW, with Caller ID, who needs an answering machine? If I see someone I know called, I call them back.

When I'm home and I see a solicitor, I flip the switch on the FAX machine and let them talk to that.

Illegal robo call.  Fake charity SCAM.
