- Jixs| 4 repliesHere's the answer to all your prayers. Telemarketers almost exclusively use "autodialers" to make their calls. One out of a thousand will have the reps doing the dialing. When these dialers connect (you answer the phone) they listen for any tones generated. They then transfer the call to one of the reps in a call center. "IF" the autodialer hears the 3 beeps from dialing a "DISCONNECTED" number, the number just dialed is automatically "REMOVED" from their list. Below is a link that has this tone PLUS the verbal message. You DO NOT need the verbal message. Download or copy the "DISCONNECTED" MP3 or WAV file to your desktop. Create or change the greeting you have when someone calls you and you're not available. At the VERY BEGINNING of the message place the 3 tones only (NOT THE VOICE MESSAGE). The autodialer will hear the tones and BINGO, your number will be removed since they think it's a disconnected number. After you insert the 3 tones play your regular greeting to callers. DONE. In a few weeks you will be off of all the lists. Of course you may have to explain the tones to the callers you DO want to speak to but that's a small tradeoff. Pass this info on to people you know that get junk calls or even help post this on these websites. GET RID OF JUNK CALLS.

- Roxy RedThey call, but I choose not to answer. They cannot take the hint, as they keep calling every day.
Ugh!- Caller: "Wisconsin Call"
- Annoyed replies to JixsJixs, I've been using this recording for the last 2 weeks, it doesn't work. I continue to get calls, it makes no difference. See my new post below (in a few minutes).
- Annoyed| 5 repliesCalled me today @ 12:35pm, I gave them the 3-tones recording, but it hasn't been working. No Caller ID name. After my outgoing recording stopped, I heard part of a pre-recorded message from the caller, saying something about avoiding the "incoming debt tsunami". Scumbags.
I've been getting constant calls for the last 2 weeks from a variety of numbers (always different) and caller ID names, I suspect they are all the same organization, it's too much of a coincidence to be getting calls from different places all at the same time. The Caller ID names I have seen (the ones that had any, anyway) during this barrage of annoyance are:
"TAX DEFENSE"
"PENGUIN AIR IN"
"HEALTH CARE INF"
The numbers are:
401-365-6294
619-600-2062
480-526-5585
212-448-5501
480-526-5615
480-719-2447
480-526-5555
480-747-6806
260-399-3723
920-560-4999
How does one get these jerks to stop calling? Are there enough stupid people in the world who would respond to this constant barrage of scam calls to make it profitable for them to continue to call the same numbers over and over again?- Caller: No Caller ID Name
- Annoyed replies to Jixs| 2 repliesI should clarify, I've been using the 3-tone recording for about a year now, and it doesn't seem to work. When I said 2 weeks I was referring the current barrage of calls I've been getting, I've used the 3-tones recording on many of them and there has been no effect. It seems more effective to just not answer at all.
- unhappywtf how many time do they have to call a day. it's been more the four now!!!!!!!
- Call type: Telemarketer
- RochelleI keep getting calls from this number and when I answer they hang up.
- Menacer267This is scaring me, they keep calling and even left a voice mail.
- SamuraiCalled me Apr 04. Ignored.
- AnnoyedEmployee replies to pests-b-goneDoesnt work if its an automated message. Whats worse is these loosers or their company calls my phone at work (not my personal cell phone). They call weekly, if not daily and since its not a live person I cant tell them where to go (the H** word) or use a whistle. These companies need to get the hint and stop calling. But these companies are run by a bunch of no brain primates.
- AnnoyedEmployee replies to BlockedWhat sucks is I CANT get them to stop or pay to block because its a company phone line and they dont have the extra resources to pay for that kind of service when we never know how long we'll be using this location for a tow yard. these loosers (the ppl calling) need to get a real job or learn to answer with a real person so I can tell them to STOP calling here. The boss isnt even AT this location and I could get in trouble or loose my job by making a decision on anything having to do with this business.
- AnnoyedEmployee replies to Jim LippardGot ANOTHER call from this number. I didnt answer which is a risk for me since it could be the owner of a car we have in the tow yard I work at. Anyone know who the ppl are doing this??
- kcmojo82they use Magic Jack and switch the phone numbers out all the time, no one can trace them - this is what our local PD told me once when I was having a problem with scammers calling trying to tell me that I owed a payday loan that I never had and was threatening me with all kinds of stuff - they are from out of the country. It's all the same bunch of Middle Easteners. Everything they try to call about is trying to get you to send them money. DON"T fall for it - no matter what their reason. Today's call is about lowering your tax bill and the number has called 8 times in literally less than a minute. I am able to have this number blocked on my phone.
- Annoyed replies to AnnoyedHere's more numbers with their associated Caller ID names that I've been getting calls from for the last few weeks, along with the others I mentioned above, which leaves no doubt that all these numbers are from the same scammers:

I will continue to log this activity here as long as it keeps happening. I contacted my phone company (CenturyLink, formerly Qwest) and their only solution is to try to sell me more services, they won't do anything about scam artists using their phone lines, because they get paid by those scam artists. - HermanThey are broke, and their plight and scheme is hilarious
Be it known that when you get a call from clowns like them. Laugh by knowing that somewhere there is some lifelong loser sitting in some cave they use as a scam palace. Where their plan is to try their darnedest to Dial for Dollars as their idea of pure genius. Solely thinking, hoping and needing the world to be full of people either as dumb as or dumber than they are,.. ROTFFLMAO !!!
HERE'S THEIR PITCH IN LAYMAN'S TERMS - - " Hewoo " Mongo just calling you " tuday " because me hope you " stoopider " than " me-self " being too stupid, shiftless and worthless in life to feed " me-self. "
So me / we " jus " want, need { would like } you name, Credit card number, Medicare number and " anyting " else me can use to steal from or " wiff. " in your name and identity,.. ok. -- THAT'S BEFORE OR AFTER YOU SENSIBLY LAUGH WHILE HANGING UP ON THEM.
Come on folks they're merely awaiting their prison dates and trying to find something else " brilliant " to do before they get scooped up,.. Oh the novelty, gratification, sophistication, intelligence and prestige of panhandling via phone fraud huh.
So until then they're merely FREE live entertainment so while and between gleefully hanging up on them. Just enjoy recognizing and treating them as the shiftless clowns of criminality. Who's a misfit merely malingering in their feckless misfortune that requires such understanding,.. and thank God you're not as worthless as nor " Stupider " than them.- Caller: 920-560-4999

I will continue to log this activity here as long as it keeps happening. It's been such fun (not). - whatev replies to Annoyed| 1 replyyou DO have to use the whole message, NOT just the 3 tones. I did about 3 years ago and it really works. Make SURE you have TWO complete recordings JUST like you hear when you call a REAL disconnected number.
KNOW that some PERSISTENT m'fers have been reported to spoof a LOCAL number, even a NEIGHBOR's or local HOSPITAL's name in the CALLER ID!!!! Probably not too common for them to spend the time to look up local names, using a spoofed local AREA CODE seems to be more common because they can use it for a large bank of numbers.
My deal was that anyone that I WANT to talk to has my cell number, so I give companies my home number that gets BOMBbarded with 90% of calls from CRIMINALS.... also, the FCC will NEVER be able to prosecute these criminals because they op outside of our COUNTRY using spoofed or sometimes LEGIT usa numbers from "internet" phone companies (VOIP). I read something about the US taking down some RUSSIAN criminals for this kind o' crap, but not sure I believe it - whatev replies to whatevoh yea, if you DO answer what I term "the criminals calling" (don't even use the term 'telemarketer' anymore 'cause it's a falsehood) then you can risk getting your number 'back on the grid' somewhat... it depends which criminals are calling. I don't think you go back to where you began, but you may get a few more calls for a little while as the robocallers make the rounds. Don't be surprised if the same numbers show up more than once getting the 'special' message; likely they have to get the message 2 or 3 times because they might think you just need to pay your phone bill:)
