- Jody| 2 repliesReceived multiple calls from "American Express" on my business line asking for a name that is unrelated to us. I have told them twice to quit calling. Very frustrating as there is no possibility that I or my organization has relationship with American Express.
- NYorkerNot a collection agency, just general account management. They called about a suspicious charge.

- LauraCaller id showed ARIZONA (623)492-6031. An automated voice tells me that there was a problem with my amex card and to call 1(888)819-2135 and enter my american express number.
I looked up both these numbers and this is a scam - basicaly looking for credit card numbers. Both numbers claim to be American Express - which, if you look on the back of your card, you will see the real Amex
I also called Amex and complained. They said if their company calls you, they will NEVER ask for your card number.- Caller: ARIZONA

- Bettyi got a call at work. I answered and they hung up
- jcIt was a missed call. When I call back it asks me to enter the account #. It really looks suspicious to me as I think this is a scam.
- slnMissed call. Every day now for the past couple of weeks. Finally called it back and automation asked for AmEx acct #. Stayed on line until guy came on. Gave my name & nothing came up so he asked for SSN or acct #. Told him absolutely not. gave him ph# only & told not to call again. He said it may take 3 - 5 days to get # out of system.
- surprisedThis # called my home phone and said it was from AZ. I hit the reject button as I won't answer unknown #'s. It immediately called my work phone next. No voicemails on either. Called back and it says, "Thanks for calling American Express, please enter your account # now." No way this is for real.

- jg| 7 repliesthese people are scammers dont give them any info just tell them to give you there info and see how they like that or tell them you will call amex your self.
- StephGot this call this morning and looked it up before answering. I have devoted a 1.5 minute message just to irritate collectors and I love it that I can check this sight before answering the phone. So many people complain of being terrorized by collectors,in this day and age,you simply let them fill up your voice mail. They can't terrorize you if you don't answer. My message is soly devoted to mental health and the

- RBSaid they were calling about our Amex, which is behind due to me fat fingering the payment info and paying less on accident one month. Actual Amex people have been wonderful about repayment (probably because we spend a lot on the card and have had it forever). We have been told by American Express not to talk to these people but to discuss our card matters directly with them.

- This number is legit!| 4 repliesI called American Express and was on the phone with them for over 30 minutes. We have determined that this number is a legit American Express number from the credit department but I can't vouch for those people that don't have an AMEX card. I'm guessing thats just bad customer service on AMEX's part. but it is a legit number.
- New York City| 1 replyReceived a call this morning on my cellphone claiming to be from American Express, and they asked for my ex-boyfriend. I said it was a wrong number and they hung up. Definitely bogus, so assuming not actually tied to Amex at all BUT, I can't figure out how they'd have my ex's name listed with my cellphone #. I can't recall ever putting my number down as a contact for anything in his name. Not even for pizza delivery or anything trivial like that...
- Caller: they claimed Amex, but definitely NOT
- JoshCalled twice so far. Both times the person (somewhat confusedly) says "Hello? Hellllllo?" but never leaves an actual message. As I don't answer the phone of people I don't know and they didn't leave a message, I don't know what they actually wanted. I sounds like from the others that they are potential scammers anyhow.
