- Call type: Telemarketer
- KB| 4 repliesThey call many times from various numbers and leave this message "Hello and congratulations! you recently applied for a pay day loan, blah blah blah...." I never applied for any payday loan, and they are illegal in my state of Pennsylvania. I tried blocking the number but they just call back from different numbers with different area codes.

- g2Same as KB above....get the same loud message saying "HELLO AND CONGRATULATIONS" I've never actually listened to the entire message as it's really annoying; I just hang up.
- MidNYteStormThe fact that payday loans are illegal in NY proves to me that this is a scam.

- Mark| 1 replyI received a phone call from 631.820.7165 this morning. I didn't answer but they left a loud voicemail with an approval code for a payday loan. I called the number back to let them know I did not apply for a loan with them and ask them to stop bothering me but the number doesn't exist, so I've been looking online to find them (their website has no contact information/method) without any luck. This is clearly a scam.

- anne| 2 repliesToday on 7/15/15 received a call stating a warrant would be issued for my arrest for felony check fraud and payday loan fraud with EZ Money Loans back in 2011. Spoke with one man who in turned transferred me to an "attorney" we spoke briefly, He stated they had numerous witnesses against me, etc..... Against me for what???? I asked the amount of the check he tells me he would have to call the DA and put me on hold the first man I had spoken too gets back on the line within a second of holding and automatically gives me the amount of $1325.00... Now how is that the so called attorney did not have that info but had to apparently call the DA and within seconds the other man can give me a total.... REALLY??? He proceeded to inform me that a $25,000 bond was issued but then stated a warrant in my county would be issued.... NOW IS IT ISSUED OR NOT?????? Too many holes in the conversation. They had plenty of infor on me some right some wrong.... makes me wonder. I asked them to send me paperwork on all they were talking about because I never received anything.... Of course I never received an okay I will do that, just well if you cant pay the amount due, then a warrant will be issued with your counties Sherriff's Department.
- Caller: Not Given
- Call type: Debt collector
- fed on a dod baseGot a call from this number while I was out of my office but didn't leave a message. I won't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize so I wouldn't have answered anyway if I was present. With the recent Chinese hacking into OPM database and also the case of security clearance applications being hacked, it's so scary to be getting such calls as this left and right!
- CWG40 replies to anneTotal scam. Check fraud is a crime and is handled by law enforcement. If you had written a bad check the bank or maybe the payee would inform you. The bank or payee would then have the option of going to the police and making a compliant. You would not hear about it from some cold-calling scammery-scummery debt collector. Debt collectors have nothing to do with the criminal justice system. Debt collectors have nothing to do with what a prosecutor does or does not do and do not get involved in the issuance of bonds in criminal cases. Or any cases. Being in debt is not a crime and you cannot be arrested for it. Bonds are normally only issued in criminal cases and in order to find out how much the bond is you have to be in custody for some criminal offense or another. Warrants are only issued in criminal cases and are only issued by judges in your local area and are only issued to duly constituted officers of the law. But being in debt, as I said is not a crime and you cannot be arrested for it.
They are just trying to scare you into paying them something by throwing a lot of meaningless legal mumbo-jumbo at you. Ignore them and block their calls. Do not pay them anything or agree to. Do not return their calls.

And here: http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx - Bobbie J Harris| 1 replyThey keep calling and saying that I had put in an application for a payday loan. I have been approved for a loan of $1500.Call back within twenty-four hours and put in the code number of 4334 and again a code number of 1101. The last call came at 8:21 AM CST. They wake me up every morning with these calls. How do you get rid of them? If you block one phone number they then call you back from a different number. How do they get so many different phone numbers? Can the phone companies do something about this? Are they using throw away phones? Who is giving them all the different phone numbers? This is what happens when you switch to free enterprise. What happened to good old MA BELL!!!

Newer call blocking devices can block whole area codes. This is still your best bet on stopping them for now. The government is on it.. You may want to read some of these recent articles.
