Here's what happens when you report calls to the FCC

Just when you thought the FCC didn't enforce the laws regarding robocalls, along comes this:

From Robinson & Cole, Data Privacy and Security Insider:

"On May 4, 2015, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) cited three companies … for their unwanted robocalls, threatening statutory fines of up to $16,000 per violation if the violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) don’t cease."

For the full article, see: http://www.dataprivacyandsecurityinsider.com/ ... nted-robocalls/

Note that the FCC enforces the TCPA - The FTC (NOT the FCC) enforces the FDCPA.  What one has to do to violate the different laws is … well, different.

The FCC will not do anything.
ALL of the FCC commissioners were put in place by Obama and they allow this to happen, so that Obama can push his Green agenda.

Don't be blaming the current administration....these calls did not stop when you added your name to the DNC list in the prior administration(s)....so tired of hearing bashing of the current administration.

Its funny how some want to blame the president as if these calls only started since he took office.

The only people to blame are the corporations that you buy products and services from who sell your information to others who sell to others and so forth.  I recently opened up a CareCredit account and within a month began receiving calls on my cellphone and business phone.
The FCC cannot do anything about most robo calls for the simple reason that these type of  telemarketers use a multitude of phone numbers that can't be traced.  I had to contact and file a case with the FBI a couple of years ago about one telemarketer and they told me that many of the calls we receive are from people in other countries.  Robo calls are illegal but the law can't charge an unknown caller.  If your carrier allows, you can sign up for free with nomorobo   http://www.nomorobo.com  Unfortunately, my carrier, Cox doesn't participate.

You're right, and they have stated that sometimes the investigations lead to a cold trail because of things like this.

This is why sometimes you have to answer the phone and play nice, until they give you enough information to find out who is behind it.  Be friendly, and they'll be less defensive and more willing to give up more information.  Let them think they are leading you toward a close, while you ask for things like web site, address, call back numbers, etc.  Just be polite.  Once you have the information, then the FCC has more info to go on.

Report to the FCC: You must provide more than a number and a time of the call. The FCC wants-wants-wants details like company names and details of any voice communications your heard. This obliges you to pick up the call and listen to whatever "doggerel and catterel" that may inundate you. Those are the kinds of calls the FCC wants to hear about. Hang-up and dead line calls just don't "cut the mustard".

Yep.  You know those posts about the Grant scams?   I think it high time our alleged 18th President, US Grant, was exhumed and tried for Tele-Scam Treason.  United States Government Grants?  US GRANT?  Wake up Sheeple!
