- jbhesCall by person with very strong accent (Indian?) saying he is with Tech Support and telling me that my computer has been reporting lots of errors and has been downloading programs without my knowledge or permission. Wanted me to go to my computer and do things so he could help me fix my problem. I followed none of his requests and believe it is some kind of a scam. I told him my computer says it is OK and thanked him for his help. :) I get this call every month or so, usually give them a hard time or just hang up.

- Peltman| 1 replySounded like a phishing trip. I humg up. Who do you contact to get sometjingdoe
- Tamianth replies to PeltmanMost of these calls come out of India and Pakistan as a ROT.. Spoofed numbers.
The only persons who should be touching your computer is you, your manufacturer, Real Windows support that you have called and/or maybe a real live tech you see face to face! And be very very leery of numbers when you look to call the real ones, there are fake websites up. Never call numbers from pop ups either, thats scareware.

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:
