Received a call from 1-646-755-9276. A woman said I need to call back because of tax evasion.  She repeated a phone twice, but I think it was a different number than the one that showed up on my caller ID.  She  said she was from the US Treasury Department.
First of all no one from tht US Treasury Department would call you.  They would send a letter with the proper letterhead at the top.  It is a fraud folks.  I would have her fly in from New York and collect the money in person and there would be a FBI agent waiting for her with hand cuffs.
    This number is now blocked.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

I got call from 1-646-755-9276 today, Nov 24, 2015, at 12:38 pm CST telling me the US Department Treasury has filed a tax fraud case against me. I spoke to 2 people: The first one's name was GERALD COHEN, ID# AU7884. (He was probably lying.) He said he is making me aware that I owe the US Dept of Treasury $3,816. I told him that's a lie because I file income tax every year and if I make a mistake, IRS would send me a letter. He claimed a letter was sent, but the address he gave me was an old address. I told him IRS has my current address. Then he switched me to the restitution department, and the next person I spoke to claimed there was a warrant out for my arrest and told me he would cancel the warrant if I go through a confidential validation process, that I must keep confidential and not discuss with anyone; and that I need to be prepared to pay the $3,816 in cash today; otherwise, I will be arrested, spend 6 months in jail and be fined $35,000. I told him there's no way I'm going to give him any amount of money. Then this fool actually threatened me and said he's going to come to my house, punch me in the nose, and personally arrest me himself. I asked, "Are you sure you're from the IRS?" He didn't answer, so I just hung up on him. Shortly thereafter, I filed a detailed report of this call with the TIGTA (Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration) and the Internal Revenue Service. The website address for filing a report with TIGTA is: https://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml.  The email address for reporting this to the IRS is: phishing@irs.gov.
