- Zea| 8 repliesScam with threat- Gave their name as Dennis Grey calling about an inforcement action executed by US Treasury. The call was a recording and never said my name. The message said that you should cooperate with us to help us to help you or this would be considered an intentional attempt to avoid appearing before a majestrate of court or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense. Then their recorded message repeated itself.
- Caller: They did not identify themselves

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

- Peter W| 2 repliesDennis Grey from the US Treasury calling to inform you there is an impending action against your account not answering this call may result in appearance before a federal judge - please contact us at 727 450 8939 - I called the number specifically 'cause I didn't the other day and I knew it was a scam - the 'phone rang for about 30 seconds before a pick up and the person who answered "US Treasury" with a different name (didn't catch it} identified himself as a US Treasury officer with his badge number - I simply asked him - You do know it is a federal offense to impersonate a federal officer?" ... he asked me to identify myself and I replied "well you should know, you called me" - he hung up
- Caller: unidentified
- BigA replies to Peter WIRS Scam:
The IRS does not need to sue anyone. They send you first class letters delivered by the Post Office. Several of them. Ignore those, and they then send certified letters that you need to sign for. Again delivered by the Post Office. Ignore those and they simply freeze your bank accounts and anything else you own. If they can do that, then why would they bother with a court case that might take them years before they get in front of a judge? They also do not bother arresting people for a few thousand dollars for the same reasons I have already given.
