Man with an accent left message that claims they are calling regarding an action from the IRS and that they want to help me.  I believe this is a scam as the IRS does not call people.

Like everyone else, I got a [foreign accent sounding] voice message from the "US Treasury" [from a man whose name I couldn't make out].  (I had to laugh.)  I guess we're all going to be jail mates.

I got a call from this number at 1:41 PM.The Caller ID says unknown name. This is a scam. The IRS does not call wanting money. They will mail out letters. Also there are scam calls regarding late utility bills and wanting you to pay them. Also there are scam calls about debt that you do not owe demanding money.

Same as everyone above.  Believe, like everyone prank or scam.  Not going to return call.  Believe Federal Government would first make contact by registered letter, no a call that is not clear or clearly understood.  Anyone call back??

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

I accidentally returned the call.  Got the same person as who left 2 voice mails (heavy middle eastern accent).  I request his name and badge/ID number.  This is normally given by any government employee who is making contact with the public for official purposes.  He did not appear to understand what I was requesting.  He just kept asking for my name so he could look me up.  I repeated my request 5 or 6 times to no avail.  It definitely is a scam.  All contact from the Treasury Dept or IRS is initially via mail.  I have since blocked this number.

Left similar message on voice mail, must still be some gullible people out there who believe a number with CID of PRT LUCIE FL would be calling claiming to represent the Treasury.

Man with Indian/[***] accent left a msg. on my home phone and states that he if from the US Treasury Dept. threatens jail, we owe money and you must call him back. Two months ago he called and was Steve Martin and the phone number was in New York, now he is Dennis Gray and his number shows as Port Saint, FL. Maybe he has several personalities. Anyway he must work in a warehouse at least that's what it sounded like when I called him back to give him a does of his own medicine.
