Got three calls from this number. Hung ups when I answered. I returned the call and it said Verizon Wireless. I hung up. I'm not their customer.
If you call this number - it is verizon - and yes they are trying to "upgrade" you - Just be nice and ask to be removed from their call list - I did and havent received calls since... Good luck
The number originates from a computer and is randomly dialed from all Verizon Wireless customers. Once the call originates on the automated end, it terminates when the cell phone user originates (or answers) the call on the destination end. Thus, when you answer your cell phone you disconnect the automated call. Verizon Wireless is counting on a certain percentage of subscribers to become annoyed and return the call inquiring about the hang ups...that is when they have you on the line and can try to upsale you on your current plan, as well as try to have you renew your two-year agreement early in an effort to lock you in, while providing you with an incentive discount. All of this, from a phone call YOU technically orginated when you called back...thus, relieving them from liability of the "Do Not Call" list, and telecommunication spam. Unethical, yet quite brilliant from a marketing stand point. However, a perfect (and classic) set up for a class action claim against the wireless provider.
I got this several time and then called 611 at Verizon Wireless. They transferred me into their FRAUD department. This number is NOT a verizon number and does not connect you to verizon. Verizon was able to trace this number down to a Pacific Telephone number. This is a computerized calling spam service. When I returned the calls a recorded messages said "thank you for your interest in verizon wireless service". That's it - nobody answered.
Jeez people calm down!!! This number is for Verizon Wireless. I too saw this number, called back and got a rep on the phone. My contract was almost up for renewal and they were calling to let me know about certain promotions that I qualified for. You just need to be patient and a rep will come to the phone and let you know why they were calling…!
I have been harassed by at least 1 phone call a day from this number-on my land line phone...I have answered 4 times, and they say they are a telemarketing company hired by Verizon to get customers to upgrade wireless accounts.
I just got off the ohone with Verizon, who told me they couldn't stop it. The rep said that all she could do was make a note on my account, that it was already renewed. No guarantee that it would stop, and suggested I purchase call blocking for my land line phone to block the number,.
i received multiple calls from this number each day for the past couple of months. i finally called it back and advised them (telemarketing firm calling on behalf of verizon) that if verizon would like to keep my business they should take me off this call list or i will take my business to another provider. this is a good way for verizon to lose a lot of customers.
They just called me again so I picked up and said nothing...finally someone on the other end said "hello?" and I said, "is this Verizon" and they said "yes" so I said "this number has been calling me EVERY SINGLE DAY and as soon as someone answers I'm hung up on...IT NEEDS TO STOP" so they said "ok, so you don't want Verizon to call you anymore about your phone" and I said "ABSOLUTELY NOT...I called VZ the other day and requested that you don't call me". Let's see if this works!
Calls approximately 3 times a week, sometimes twice in one day. I usually ignore, but after I redialed it and found out it is Verizon wireless customer service I began answering. There is no response when I say hello, so I hang up! I am a Verizon customer for cell service, but not in-home service.
