- W.T.I keep on getting calls from 1-800-454-2227 stating its very important that I call back. I tried several times and each time I was disconnected. I finally get through several days later and some man says I owe $498.40 to AT&T. I Have Never Had AT&T Service......Ever!!!! He then asks how I'll pay for this bill!! Which I've never seen! He then tells me Bay Area Credit Service has mailed many bills to me with no response back from me! Um..No I don't think so....completly fraudulent company..now I have to file a report with my phone company to block there calls. : (

- AnonI get this call avery week or so and I finally called and called until I spoke to a person. It sounded like he was using a voice modification device of some sort, kind of computerized.
He was looking for someone else entirely and told me my number would be removed from the list.
Two days later, same call. I called and called until I got through and he told me my number isn't in their system, so he has no idea why I'm still receiving the calls. He said he's make sure I wouldn't receive any more calls, but I don't see how that makes any sense. - sugar raylRepeated calls - never speak to a person, only disconnects, and busy signals. VERY ANNOYING. Even got a call from this number for another person I have never heard of.

- KateI get messages from this number on my land line answering machine. It says "this is an important cal. not a solicitation or a sales call" and leaves the numer 800-454-2227. I've tried to call back, get a recording, press 1 for english and then it rings a few times and the goes directly to a busy signal. I guess i know now not to worry about it.
- tommyrecorded message, return call always busy, than recording says they are unable to answer now, leave massage, Noooooooooooooooo Way I, like the others would like to know how to stop this.
- actionYou can file an FCC complaint against this number because they are not identifying themselves in the call. If you return their call DO NOT give them any information about you, esp. if they won't properly identify themselves. If you are home when they call again don't give any info and ask them to send it to you in writing and to stop calling. (Since they are calling you they will have info on you if they are legit) If they call again ask them to stop and be sure to document the dates and times of the calls. There are rules that have to be followed by people trying to collect debts and harrasment is not allowed. There is plenty of info on the web about your rights for the state and county you live in (each are different). If you have already giving the credit agency information and you have any specifics you can also open a complaint with the District Attorney.

1-800-454-2227 - JenExact thing here. How can you get them to stop calling your phone?
- PachamamaSame thing. Every day I get a call from this number and the caller ID says Bay Area Credit. I ignored it for about a week and then I called it back just to tell them off. Either no one answers or it says "press 1 or English" and then I don't get to a person. I don't owe any money so it's really

- mahockenI have received numerous messages on my answering machine stating that I should call this number, and that it's not a sales call or solicitation. I ignored the calls because I was sure it was some type of scam. Finally, however, after getting messages about 3 times a week for about a month I got tired of it and tried calling the #. Each time, after selecting that I wanted to speak to a representative in English, I was disconnected. Argh! I really hope they don't call again. Makes me want to throw the phone out the window.
- Candida replies to SE Michigan| 19 repliesi started getting these calls as well. however, when i finally called one back, they were trying to locate someone else, not me. 2 days later, i get another call for ME. for an at&t disconnection fee that i never paid. at&t says they do not collect disconnection fees and my account is paid in full.
- candida replies to tsame for me, same phone number on the caller ID. at&t has no clue what i am talking about. i called them and got transferred to different departments all saying my account is closed and paid in full when i moved and had it turned off.
- Frustrated in Bossier City, La.My wife and I moved and had dicontinued service with AT&T. About a month later we get a bill for $67.00 for service during the month following our disconnection. Obviously this was an error, so my wife had tried calling the AT&T customer service line and no one could help, she kept being passed from one person to the next. So a few weeks later we get a call from this Bay Area Credit Service. It was very unnerving. My wife tried contacting AT&T by email this time and AT&T corrected their error, but we are still getting calls from these Bay Area Credit Service jokers. Still annoying but I like to argue when I know I am right. Especially with guys that think they can do something.

- mikeyI talked to these losers and they told me that i owe one of their clients money, but would not give me the company name. I told them to prove it because I know i do not owe anyone, but they said that the proof needs to be provided on my side. I told them they are wrong and asked them to stop calling me.
I have also messed with these folks extensively, 'accidentally' hitting numbers on my phone as well as talking gibberish with them. They will simply hang up after a minute or two.
I almost can't wait for them to call back so that I can piss them off some more!- Call type: Debt collector
- ChadGot a Voicemail, called, said it was "Bay Area Credit", and started asking questions. Knew my corporate name and address. I kept asking who this is and what it is about, kept repeated the name of the company but would not tell me what it is about. I said I will not answer questions if I don't know who this is, he kept repeating his company name and would aggressively try to continue asking information. I kept telling him I will not be answering questions, and he kept telling me he is not a solicitor. I finally hung up on him while he kept asking for more questions.
- Caller: Bay Area Credit
- One L replies to FrustratedI also got a call from 800-697-1234. They left a voicemail that was almost impossible to understand except that I could make out the word "situation." and that it was not a sales call or solicitation. They left the call back number as 800-454-2227, so it's the same people.
