We keep getting calls from 800-697-1234, telling us to return a call to 866-515-3445.  Very annoying, as we are on the do not call list and have an unpublished number.  Any idea to whom the number belongs?

Answering machine messages telling me to call them.  I don't call.   Tonight I took the call and a man with a Middle Eastern accent asked for a name I don't know.  I chewed him out but good and told him never to call this number again or it would be harrassment.  Legally, he cannot call now that I have said that...and I will follow it up with a letter if needed.

left several messages, then started calling asking for Priscilla and said they were a credit agency maybe Bay State???  When I said they had the wrong # they asked about a po box and gave me zipcode that is not even in teh same state. I called the # back and they seemed quick to fix the problem...probably scammers.

6/25/2007 7:30PM....I got a call(automatic recording)saying this was not a telemarker. It was important I call this number back as they needed to talk to me the number 800-697-1234. When I called back they said it's some sort of credit agency (could not clearly understand beyond that). They transfered me to some one else, who wanted my phone number so he could check me on the list, I said I am not comfortable proving any information, I only gave last name, then he wanted my last 4 of ssi, I said again I was not comfortable providing any other information. He then, said my name and asked about an address in California that he said was associated with my telephone number (mind you I live on the Eastern Seaboard), I told him that I know nothing of this address or person and they have nothing to with me..however he did say the address before he said he could not discuss this with me any further and hung up.
What I find extremely disturbing was when I had to activate a credit card about about a month ago that bank asked me 3 security questions "from public records" and that same address came up? In fact out of 9 security questions they wound up asking me only 1 security questions pretained to me. I had to call back the following day to a bank manager to get it taken care of, I have no idea from where the bank gets it's info other then they said they use a security service. I let them know that they have something very wrong and they had better look into it, as the bank said that the agency they use uses the SSI number to pull this things???

After that I order all three credit reports and nothing seemed amiss on them?

And the only reason I bothered to call the 800 number back was just 3 days ago I got a call from another credit card company I have an account with for a fraud alert as someone in Tennessee tried to use my account for $1.58 (I gather to test the card), which the bank promptly called about and as a safety measure closed my account and is issuing me a new account altogether.  :(

Received automated calls daily, with recorded message to return calls, not a solicitation, or a sales call.Today, I returned call to 800-697-1234, and asked to be removed from the call list.  Was asked if I knew someone named Patty Silver.  I do not, responded as such, and was told my phone number would be removed. I believe credit fraud involved.

Same old story... got a call from a machine stating that this was not a sales call and I needed to call 800-697-1234.  Some really rude, poorly spoken man with a middle eastern accent insisted that he was going to harrass me with non-ending phone calls until I released information to him on the phone.  As you can imagine, the phone call ended abruptly, much to his chagrin!  This is Bay Area Credit Services and they are definately a collection agency that extracts information and payment of unverified debts through intimidation and threats.
Don't fall for thier threatening tone.  Under uniform collection practictes law, they are required to inform you that this is an attempt to collect a debt, and any information obtained will be used for that purpose, however, that does not mean that you are required to give them ANY information whatsoever.  Good luck and give em' grief, just like they do you.

They keep asking for a Mary Robinson.  No clue who that is.  Every time I tell them that there is no one by that name here, they ask to verify the number they are calling.  It's always a different number, and they always want to know my number.  First time out I told them it was a business and gave the number, thinking it would get us off the call list.  After that, I refused to answer their questions.  I have asked five times to be on the do not call list.  The last person, I demanded to speak to a manager.  The caller had an Indian accent.  She refused to give me a manager, or to even transfer me to a manager's voicemail.  Finally hung up on me when all I would say is that I wanted a manager.  These people call multiple times a week.  It is so frustrating.

I don't know who they are, but I keep getting the same calls.  When I returned their call just to ask them to take me off their list, I got a recording saying that representatives were "busy", so I waited, just to get another recording saying, "You are now being transfered", then I got a busy signal.  I think it might be like a junk email sort of thing where you call back and it just confirms to them that you have a real working number.  Who knows.  Weird.

I get a call from this number periodically. It's always an Indian or someone with a very thick middle eastern accent. A typical dialog is, "Hello, I would like to speak to Mary". I say, "Mary who". They say, "I would like to speak to her regarding a financial matter." I say, "If you want to speak about a financial matter you must speak to me. I know a Mary, but I don't know who you are". They say, "Is this Mary at [...some old address...]. I say, "No, she doesn't live there. [... she did once ...]" They say, (still not disclosing who they are), "Before we discuss this matter can you at least provide us her date of birth?" I say, "You still have not informed me who you are, and in any case I won't give you any financial information." They hang up on me.

I am sure they have some partial information. Maybe a first name, an old address, the number of a responsible 3rd party. They are clearly pfishing for more without disclosing who they are. They might have some old written-off small debt that they are trying to ressurect.

A man with a Middle Eastern accent calls several times a week looking for someone I don't know. No matter how many times I tell him that person is unknown to me, he keeps calling back. Very frustrating.

Get 2 calls a day, and have about 60 on my caller-id. I won't answer.  I called them from a pay phone and they said they were a business and the information was private unless I gave them my phone number.  This has been going on for over 2 months.  They are on west coast, I am on east coast.  I do not owe any bills, my credit is top-notch.  Anyone know how I can report them so that they stop calling? Yes, it is a thick-accented man, and I thought it might be from China as a lot of 800 numbers are.

I keep getting calls from these people every day. They ask me for all types of information without mentioning who they are, at one point I didn't answer the phone , my husband did and they ask him for my S.S #, our address, if I was working. I wish there was some way I could bust these people. Because whatever they are doing is not legal. Any info on these [***] that anyone can supply.....other than their address and the fake collection agency thing. would be great.
    Cheers Lady D.

    ID says: Not Provided

I let my answering machine answer and it was a recording that said.."Please hold for our next available representive"..the recording is of a lady and she says it in spanish too...then I heard..."hello"..."hello"...it reminds me of calling the cable and taking the callback option...they call you back and you get recording similar to this one that says you are next and to hold and they come on and say hello.

I never answer numbers I don't recognize...but found this one really weird.

How is it that this company is allowed to keep calling people?! IT IS A MAJOR SCAM !  At the very least phone companies could protect their customers by blocking these numbers. Or even prevent them from having a telephone account to continue with their identity and credit theft operation! Life is hard enough without some jerk making it more difficult..geez

We have been on there list for about two years now. They keep calling saying that they have a bill that we have not paid. They followed us from one state to another We keep asking for them to send a copy. They claim they did. They have to send one out every  6 months or so if you ask. If they call again. Make them mad ask for a copy of a bill to be mailed to you not faxed not emailed. Tell them you are going to check things with your records. They refuse to mail out bills. Saying then they can't call you. By the way two different credit card agency say they are a frauds and already refuse to give them payments even if a customer gives them account info.
