The crime wave in Western New York continues…

Newbie Attorney, fresh out of law school (UB Buffalo, 2004) Patrick Michael Corbett, 28, is already up to his ears in trouble with the wrong crowd. Apparently Patrick has succumbed to the pitch of criminal debt collector Douglas J. MacKinnon by ‘renting’ his law license out to this group of desperate debt collectors, for a piece of the action.

Corbett follows a long line of attorneys, who have fallen victim to the lies of instant riches from debt collection, simply by ‘renting’ out his law license, so criminal debt collectors can extort monies from innocent consumers.

Newbie Lawyer Corbett apparently is unaware of the lies, deceit and broken promises suffered by his predecessors, not to mention the incredible financial bind and problems with the state bar that his association with this criminal organization is about to bring down on him.

One consumer attorney, familiar with this group and the way they operate recently told me that newbie’s like Patrick are told they can make a ton of money in a short period, simply by allowing debt collectors to (falsely) claim they are a law office, capable of bringing suit down on unpaid accounts, they purchased for pennies. Two of his recent predecessors lost their license from this same address they filed for more than a million dollars in bankruptcy. One other associated downtown (Franklin Street) Buffalo lawyer is up to his ears in an out of state lawsuit that may lead to his filing for bankruptcy protection, or possibly worse problems, for being both incredibly stupid and disgustingly greedy.

The problem with Corbett is he failed to do his homework, or was too dumb to realize the consequences of his actions. He has ZERO experience in FDCPA litigation, an area of law that requires expertise and a lot of experience. So now it’s up to those who read this to take actions, so he can be held accountable for the crime that is certain to be perpetrated under his name and law license.

Yeah this guy is bad news, he answered the phone "Becker" when I called him back to see what he was talking about. He kept insisting he wasn't a commissioned debt collector just an "In between" as it were. Seemed pretty ignorant when he was talking. When I stated I would be willing to work with them to settle the balance for a "payday loan" he refused to take a money order as I was 100% unwilling to give them any account numbers. I then told him about several things I've read on some websites and hung up on him.

I really don't need to worry about going to courts and such over this idiot?

I fail for it.  They got $600 out my bank account.  I wish I had known about them earlier.  Maybe this will alert someone else.

I received a message on my machine last night - they were looking for my sister.  The name he left was Daniel White.  Same M.O. - "Call back within 48 hours or we are going to proceed.....Case #......" etc.

Corbett is filing judgments against these payday loans! I was just notified of judgment that was rendered against me, preventing me from now buying the house I was trying to get. Just thought I would point this out.  I am trying to resolve this mess he has put me in now! This sucks!

Did you not give the payday loan company your checking info when taking the loan?

Recieved a call on my cell phone!!!!!! Saying a very serious matter,call us back. They had the last 4 #'s of my social # thats whats scarry!!!!!

They have the last four of your social because you put it on your application for credit that you now have defaulted on and need to pay our bills!!  DUH!

I had been dealing with the atty's office for 3 months. I have finally paid my bill off .There is a gentleman there named Frank that has been very easy to work with. Thanks for all the help.

i just paid this atty who was verry help full helped me remove the debt off my credit report  i see all this bad stuff a bout him but i paid with  prepaid cc and left some extra $$ on there and they only took what we talk a bout  also i ha my atty look in to him and he stated if they took any more the yhe debt then he could loose his bar license  s i dont think he would do such a thing also said he could sue but all it would be was a cival jugment
and all th could do was take 25% of my check but if i pt a bad check on file with fast cash then i could be in a lil more truble couse as we all know u cant write bad checks any more

These guys are shady dealers and scammers and if you get a call from them file a 1088 Complaint with the FCC at https://esupport.fcc.gov/form1088/consumer.do and if you are on the National Do Not Call List, file a Complaint at https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx.

If the government gets enough complaints from you, we can put these guys out of business.

Bud Hibbs is a joke.  He has more judgments then the playboy has issues.  He has legally changed his name to hide from creditors.

Considering that even a Special Olympics competitor can "make it" as a debt collector, I doubt the validity of your statements.

Called about a relative and said if he couldn't get in touch with said relative that they were sending Parish Sheriff to his work.
