- Ray| 2 repliesGot a call twice from this number. They were exactly 3 weeks apart. Let message saying they had an important message for Javier A... regarding a pressing situation on someone else.
On this first call (2/3), I called back saying there was no such person as this number and to remove me from their calling list. Apparently, they're not too "smart" to do that.- Caller: Thomas Thomas Ridgemont Associate?
- Ray replies to Ray| 1 replyI did more research on that suspicious number. It belongs to a legitimate company. The correct name is Thomas, Thomas, Wichterman & Associates LLC. It's a Customer Service & Collections company located in Murray, UT.
Apparently someone gave them my cell phone # and now they're for looking for Javier and his sister!!
So it's not some sort of scam but it's still annoying to get calls pertaining to someone else. - Apparently Ron J Cooper replies to RayGot a call from this number. The guy (Mr Penman) said he was calling about my credit card and when I told him I don't own a credit card. He proceeded to tell me to man up and pay my bill, that I know it's my bill. So of course I went off on him. I called the number back, and talked to his boss and he said that that guy is, to put it bluntly, "a prick" ... this is from the "Boss" what the hell kind of company allows their employees talk to anyone like that. Regardless if they are a collections group. The dude didn't even attempt to varify who he was talking too. Complete jack ass!

- S. RobertsonThis is an collection agency posing as lawyers. They never sent me anything in the mail or called me but somehow got my parents cell nubers and they are not in the same home. I haven't lived with either parents in years. They called both parents telling them they needed to get in contact with me regarding a "federal offense" that I am facing. I called back and was given nonsense about this federal offense on credit card. I do owe the credit card but for half of the money that he was asking for. He also tried to make pay on the phone because they were about to take "action" against me. He was also talking to me as if he was a salespaerson. I eventually hung up on the guy. They as lawyers using scare tactics to get you to pay. I was also told that they used investigators to find me through my parents.

- tptReturned call and they wouldn't put me through to person who called me without a case number. I told them not to call me again. They are a collection agency who wants info on a tenant in one of my rental properties. They have no right asking me about a tenant of mine.

- ticked offGot the same calls from the same guy Mr. Lang. He's called my parents and my ex-husband trying to scare them to death. So stupid, you can tell he is reading from a piece of paper, even down to the pathetic "sigh" in the middle of the message. I actually AM an attorney and know my rights very well. It is illegal to call without identifying the debt and who is owed money or that the call is for the purpose of collecting a debt. They MUST provide you with a copy of the original debt that is owed or else they cannot come after you. Also, if you notify them in writing, it is illegal (punishable by an ACTUAL Federal offense) if they call you again after asking them to stop in writing. Jerks, I wrote a letter tearing them up with the law and telling them how pathetic they sounded reading that stupid paragraph over and over on my voicemail. Know your rights and empower yourself.

- AL New York City| 1 replyReceived a distressing call looking for my daughter or anyone from my family who could give out information on someone who they described as an "individual known to her" who is in serious trouble and they appeared to need our help to get this "unknown person" out of trouble and asked that we call them back right away at their number. Usually if its a debt collector, they'll announce themselves. They even sound like scam artists on the phone.
- bizo replies to AL New York CityThey sound like scam artists because they ARE scam artists
- Consumer Help in TrainingI received a voice mail saying they were looking for someone to verify a person who was trying to use my address and it was imperative that we call them back.
I immediately looked up the number first and after reading the above posts realized it was a fishing expedition of some kind. Will not call back but will block their number.- Call type: Debt collector
- t b jones| 1 replyi got an urgent call from a girl i dated 7 years ago that these idiots somehow linked to me... she told me that i was in serious trouble and that i needed to call these people back. i called them back, only to find out it pertained to a $500 debt that i had during college 5 years ago... i set up a payment plan with them and told them to email me the terms of the agreement... i just found out they even called my ex girlfriend's parents, and her current boyfriend... needless to say, they won't get a dime from me now. also, they left my name on these peoples' machines along with my age, and a message stating i was in serious legal trouble. now my friends and family think i'm wanted for murder... ha

- Linda replies to t b jonesI received a call looking for someone other than myself and they made is sound as if it is an emergency and I needed to contact them and the person they are calling about, they gave me the name and age of the person they are looking for but never said a word about them being a collection agent, left it that there is a very serious matter. I am a collector and the practices used by this group are highly suspect and I do have the message left on my phone which will be turned over to an agent that deals with the fair collections practices act who happens to be a lawyer. If I were this agent calling people I would be on the lookout for suits to be filed against them for breaking the fair collections practice act. Laws are made for the consumer not the vendor.
- ZinoI also just received a voicemail from these people just like everyone else on this posting did and am glad that I did the research before I actually handled business with this company. How come they dont shut these dumbasses down? Theres a lot of people getting scammed.

- MimiGot a call from this company asking for me (couldn't even say my name right) about a possible family member. When I asked who - they gave me by husband's name, I would not confirm either way, but the guy (Aaron Wilding) was trying to come across as an attorney. I ask what this was in regards to and he accused me of interrupting him (rather rudely) so I hung up.

- s hernandezI received 3 voicemails from these idiots looking for my husbands little sister. I'm thinking something happend to her since they are calling as lawyers. The funniest thing is I don't even know my house # but somehow they found me. I just got the message from 5 months ago. I guess they gave up since I wasn't returning there calls.

- mtreceived a call on 10/04/10. Caller said she was looking for a "Sarah" who'd left my number as a reference, and that 'Sarah' had referenced the number owner as 'Marilyn'. Since I'm male, and don't know a Sarah or a Marilyn, I knew the call wasn't for me. Asked what the call was about and the caller declined to give any details. Called the number back the next day and received similar vague info from receptionist @ Thomas, Thomas & Wichterman & Assoc.

- Dulce MichelenI received a telephone call of which I also got a voicemail asking me to verify some information regarding a third party. When I called the number back to obtain more information, I spoke to a woman by the name of McKenzie who simply stated that the company was a private company regarding a civil matter but refused to let me know what type of industry they served--accounting, law firms, doctors, debt collectors, etc. Furthermore, I declined to confirm or very any information over the telephone with them.
I have reason to believe this may be an attempt to collect information regarding a third party in an illegal manner in order to commit fraud. There are multiple individuals who have reported the same type of telephone call coming from this number asking for the same type of information.- Caller: Thomas, Thomas, Wichterman & Associates, LLC
