"Hello, this message is a final notice from the IRS. The IRS has filed a law suit against you. To find out more about this case call our office immediately at 832-858-7649." I called the number but nobody answered. I then called my public library and had them look up the number on Google. The call came from a T-Mobile phone in Houston Texas. This is obviously an IRS scam or fraud.

I too had a call saying the same thing as  Tim S reported. When I called last night there was no answer, it rang about 20 times before I hung up. When I called back this morning, I was asked for my name and the lady put me on hold and the call was disconnected with about 5 seconds.

I got the same message as posted above.  It gets your attention!  The IRS communicates via mail and wouldn't give you a "final notice" over the phone.  SCAM! Makes me mad.

This is an IRS scam.  They like to pray on elderly people!  My mom got the call from 832-858-7649 with the same message.  I reported it right away to phishing@irs.gov.

I called them back all foreign speaking people saying we did an internal audit for 2011,2012, 2013, and found you did not file properly and you owe (he said amount over $4000.) I said "I have an accountant" they said "we already talked to them" and I said "give me their name" and they said "we are not authorized to give you that information" I said "I give you authorization to tell me their name" and they said "we are giving you the opportunity to correct this or we will come arrest you within the hour".I said "I will be waiting" they said "we will freeze your bank accounts seize your property your licence your passport." I said go ahead.I kept asking what I did incorrectly they kept saying tax fraud. They ended up hanging up.

I got a message from this number today 832 858 7649  "Hello this is the IRS Internal Revenue Service  This is official final notice that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against you.  For more information call 832 858 7649". For one thing, I never got any other notice, so it's not like they've been trying to reach me.  I did not call that number.  I am going to call the real IRS and report it.

This scared the crap out of me at first. I am so glad i found this info.

Funny i just got a call from a number from over seas +20 2751075283285  but on my VM it said : Hello, this message is a final notice from the IRS. The IRS has filed a law suit against you. To find out more about this case call our office immediately at 832-858-7649."

I just got the call but, as I did not recognize the phone number, I let it go to voice mail.  Same message as Tim S. noted, above.  I also verified that the call is coming from Houston, Texas.  I agree with all of the other individuals who have left message so this site -- DO NOT ANSWER THIS CALL!!!!!

On November 20, 2015, I received the following automated voice message from 832-858-7649 (which is a T-Mobile caller based in Houston, Texas):  "This call is officially a final notice from IRS, Internal Revenue Service.  The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing a lawsuit against you.  To get more information about this case file, please call immediately on our department number.  Please call 832-858-7649.  I repeat 832-858-7649.  Thank you."  Obviously a scam.  DO NOT ANSWER THIS CALL.

11:19am Nov 20, 2015 received a call... caller ID showed "Not Available 2027510752832858764" Same recorded message as the others: "This call is officially a final notice from IRS, Internal Revenue Service.  The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing a lawsuit against you.  To get more information about this case file, please call immediately on our department number.  Please call 832-858-7649.  I repeat 832-858-7649.  Thank you." Reference above comments from Smith, Rehorst and Tim W:  Got the exact same call about 11:30 am.  Obvious scam.  I almost called them back to mess with them but do not know if this also a Cramming scam where they bill your phone like the Jamacian and Bahamian scammers do.  Best to just report it to the Treasury TIGTA office.

Same as others they said final notice a law suit  this is a spoof number I called back to mess with them they answered IRS this officer white read my Fake Charges Told me the cops will be Here in 45 Minutes if I Don't send them a money Gram with 3500 $ it was very loud in the background bad English they have a story down pack. I told it was a scam he cursed me out in a different language for wasting his time . More people have to report them 1800 366 4484 or call the police on them

Beware off this Scam Google IRS phone scams on line learn about this scam . They have pages on this scam even on u tube also they are in a call center spoofing Numbers looking for victims to scam. Post,on your face book twiiter any where so nobody else falls this fake IRS scam they even call from different numbers and change the caller ID to show up any number they want .

i got call from the number +20 27510752832858 and it says on my smartphone call belong to the egypt!
i didn't answer that and after they left me voice mail about irs and said that i should call irs which i didn't call the number because it's obviously fraud call!

Egypt! oh, lol! Someone wants in on this IRS scam thing, but they don't know how to manipulate their electronics to hide their location. I'll bet they're wondering right now why nobody is picking up their calls! It's because nobody wants to talk to someone in Egypt!

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
