A guy calling himself Officer Jim Fox called and left a message saying he was with the bad check and fraud department. He claimed to have affidavits about me but he was calling my parents home. Scared them to pieces. I haven't written any bad Checks. I called the number. No city was identified, so I googled the number and it's a Magic Jack number originating in Florida.  I'm thinking scam.

Received a message from man identifying himself as Investigator Fox from the Fraud and Worthless Checks Division; trying to locate a former employee.  Googled the number; says it's through YMax Communications.  Believe this is another scam of some type; will not release information.

It must be a scam because the same man called me about a pay day loan my husband got and he went to jail for an unrelated charge before he got to pay it saying that if I didn't pay it my husband would get charged and have more time added to his sentnce the payday loan was out of wildwood fl needless to say I gave him my credit card number but later was informed that in florida u cannot be arrested or charged if u do not pay a pay day loan this happened in jan.  It is now almost april and there have been no charges filied against my husband.  Thank god the card number I gave him was a prepaid debt card that I had to load money on to pay it which I was able to cancel before there were any charges

Jim Fox has found my mom and sister number, and calls  every other day with allegations, I'm from Port St Joe, FL.  He told them a warrant was being issued for my arrest today for a loan,  and the other  he said I wrote a bad check; and he need my number, they are tired of the calls, and he sounds convincing to them, and I told them to  just hangup on him.

Funny how everyone here as admitted to writing a worhtless check but when you get a call to pay it back you run to the interent to look for a reason why they can not do anything to you.
How about you look up Florida Statue 775.082, 775.083, 775.084 writting a worthless check with the intent to defraud, non pay, or closed or fraudulant account is unlawful. Funny how you steal the companies money and go well its a company it can aford to loose it this happened to me that happened to me this is why i can not pay them back but its been 6 months lmao you scammed them into cashing a worthless check with no intent on paying anyone back there money yea id say thats ilegal.
I only say all this because the 2 in port st joe you wrote those checks to me and have never paid I mailed letters I called you avoided them all and when someone else calls you in refrence to you stealing our money its oh its a scam. NO ITS NOT its called I want you to pay your worthless check back that you wrote me.

Mr. Fox called me today and I must say I was scared. I was threatened to pay same day within hours or a warrant would be placed for my arrest. I am not a fraudulent person I had a payday loan and was a faithful customer until I honestly could not afford to pay them back. I have a clean record and luckily I am internet savvy. Thanks for all your posts because I thought it seemed odd your first attempt to contact me is today only hours before you place a warrant. Who wouldn't be scared of someone claiming to be an investigator that will issue a warrant for your arrest?! The worst part is he let me cry and spill my life story on the phone knowing he was only scaring me with jail time. Shame on them.

He is a bully. Must get a percentage of what he collects.  His voice cracked me up...asked him for a badge number...doesn't have one.  Well Investigator Fox, all federal employees have credentials and ID numbers. Dip [***]!!!!!!!!Probably couldn't make it through the law enforcement academy so impersonating an Officer is as close as he can gt to his dream job. Oh, and by the way, he was trying to collect from someone I had never even heard of. Never been to Florida...sorry you sly Fox, try someone else.

Basically he's a debt scammer pretending to be a member of law enforcement.   No member of law enforcement will tell anyone in advance that they are subject to arrest.  Especially over the phone.   Ignore him.  This guy is actually a criminal himself if he is impersonating law enforcement officers.  Sadly, these debt scammers are without any compassion for their victims. They usually pick on women, single mothers, the elderly and sometimes members of the Immigrant community.

Fraudulent or Zombie Debt Collectors—Things to Know

If you have received a call stating:

    1. You have defrauded a financial institution
    2. You owe an unpaid payday loan
    3. You have a warrant due to an unpaid loan
    5. You will receive a court summons
    6.  Authorities are coming to arrest you
    7.  Anything similar to above,
     a.   Do not give them any information or verify any information for them
     b.   Tell them you know they are a scam operating illegally and that you are   filing a complaint with the  appropriate authorities
    * File a complaint with the FBI on their Internet Crime webpage     http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx
    * File a complaint with the Attorney General for the state you live in
The more information and complaints there are, the better the chance of getting these criminals to stop (or at least reduce the frequency).    [abstracted from another site]

If they keep calling your, tell them you'll make a complaint for extortion with the local police.  And do it, if they won't stop!
