Belongs to Sims Associates, a collection agency.  Thankfully for me, I was not who they were looking for and they removed my number.

Got a message saying it was debt collector...trying to figure out for what debt??? Called about my husband if you have any other other info for what company for debt would be greet...first tins they called back tho back...are they a attorney? Thanks

They keep caller many times a day even though the person that they are looking for is not here.

A debt collector thought an out-of-state relative lives with me.....they knew better....I told them to stop calling me.

I thinks it irritating.  If u owe money for a debt they have to send you a written letter.  Got to becareful.  Scary nowdays

You are right, this is what they are required to do:

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Then:

You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation, cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notion of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

someone from this number called me, asked for me by name, was very cagey and didn't say who he worked for or what he wanted, but my alarm bells were going off. He then asked for my sister, said she'd given me as a reference and asked if I could pass her a message. I told him I wasn't going to see her for a while then hung up. I looked online and found out this is some third party collection agency so I blocked their number on my landline. There are tons of reports about them being abusive and unethical online on various sites. I don't think they can legally call me looking for someone else's debt.

they called me 4 times back to back, so I blocked the number, its harassment! plan and simple and against the law.

I got a call from this company too. I didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer it. Not long after listening to the voicemail they called my job looking for me. Are you kidding me? You just called my phone and left a voicemail not even five minutes ago.

Sounds like a phony debt scammer.  They want to harass you into paying back a debt you do not owe.  They might call family, friends, your job.  They will claim the cops are on the way to arrest you, that there is a warrant against you... that your drivers license and Social Security Card has been suspended.   Ignore and block.  Don't call them back.  Check this link

Debt collector. Left message looking for my ex.

Say they are from pay pal. Called pay pal I owe no money

Called me last week claiming to be a debt collector from PayPal. Ask them to send me written proof of debt showing acct number, who debt is owed to, etc. I was told they could send it to me by email, but they didn't have to send me anything in mail. Now, they are calling and leaving msg on my voice-mail but not saying anything. Just office background noises. I'm saving these msgs,and might just see what can be done about these calls.

Hilarious. They called. I didn't answer. On my voice mail, they said "If this isn't (insert name here), please hang up." Ummmm, you're talking to a machine. Lol. These guys are pretty stupid. Just block the number.

I received several calls. I had PayPal but lost my position at work and couldn't keep up with my bills and told them to just send to collections and eventually I will try to pay them back. They are harassing me they call my phone and right after it stops ringing is like they are already on the phone to call me at work. I work for the government and I am not allowed to get calls like that. I just need them to stop calling because I do not have money at the moment but just for my essentials.

This is a debt collector in Cincinnati Ohio and possible other locations , will have to google to find more info
