- aliasI have looked this number up with little sucess. I was called today and called back on a blocked number they answered JS and Associates or J and S Associates hard to tell because she spoke so fast....they had left a voicemail threatening service etc but no mirandia etc. I called back to see what i supposedly owe i was told that they would have to ask for permission to tell me who i owed i called her out on it saying that is not how you do this.....she said they are serving me and i told her she wasnt doing $#^+ to which she had a meltdown so it was kinda fun to live in her head for awhile

- Estevez2014| 5 repliesI also got a message on my home phone and the caller ID read Unknowne Name Unknown Number. I beleive they also somehow got my cell and did not leave a message when I rejected the call. The number the lady left on my voicemail to call back was1-866-691-5625. The claim to be some County Legal Service Dept. It sounds legit but I can't foe the life of me figure out what I could be "served" for... Does anyone have any more information on who or what these calls are? Is it real or scam?
- Caller: P.G. County Dept of Legal Svcs
- Tamianth replies to Estevez2014Its another extortion scam operation.

https://800notes.com/forum/ta-9413b3202bc8b6c ... net%27s-tactics - lawsharkNo agency is allowed to call you before 8 AM and I get a phone call at 7:30 am. they ask me if I am who I am and I say yes. They said I had a summons and was I home now so they could serve me. I said no. They said to call the number 866-691-5625 and did I want a case number. I said yes. they gave me a case number and I said what state are you calling from she hung up right away. I never called the number back thinking it was a scam. I know the legal profession and this is not how they do things. So I looked it up and here I am. lol what a scam. I will report them to the State Attorney General though.
- lawshark replies to Estevez2014Don't worry about it. it's a scam. Call your state attorney general and complain to them.
- Pigmaleon| 1 replyI received a call at work this afternoon. Same stuff as noted below --threatening service at my work or residence if I don't call (866) 691-5625. I won't be calling back because when I asked for the county the lawsuit was filed in and the cause number, the lady said she could not provide personal information and then hung up on me. Once a lawusit is filed, the cause number is already a matter of public record so I was not asking for any "personal" information.
- Call type: Debt collector
- Pigmaleon replies to PigmaleonOn a side note, I tried several reverse lookups to which I have access and none of them could return any results. Makes me question the legitimacy even more.
- CWG40They call themselves JS and associates. The guy I talked too had a Asian accent to his voice. Sounds like a zombie debt collector to me.
See: http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/blog/haunted-phantom-debt
Report them.- Caller: Informational post
- Michael Johnson| 1 replyJ&s associates with a legal claim against me , was going to summon me to court even gave me a case#. Looked up the number they gave me to call in here I'm..
- Caller: J&s associates

- Tony replies to Estevez2014I just got the same call and the told me that I owe for an unpaid debt and that were about to serve me paperwork for legal action..... It's a scam and the law cannot take you to jail over unpaid debt these people just want your personal info to hack into your bank account
- CWG40 replies to Michael JohnsonTotal scam operation. No such company as JS and Associates , at least that I can find. Kitchen-table debt scammers. Next time they call you tell 'em you know they're a scam operation. They'll threaten you a lot but it's all just legal mumbo-jumbo that they throw at you trying to scare you into paying them something.
If they have a valid debt claim tell them to send you a debt validation letter. Must be by US mail. E-mail no good. Of course they'll tell you that they don't do that. But of course the laws says they have to, but the scammers operate outside the law.
See and READ Tamianth's notes above! - Also got a call in Columbus ohioI received the very same call at my job. They told my boss they were from the legal department of something and that they needed to talk to me abt a court appearance. I asked what for and she said she was not allowed to open the letter she was just supposed to serve me. When I said I wouldnt be home she gave me a number and a case number and told me to call and they would tell me what was going on. I am glad I researched this now I know what it is. Thanks everyone for sharing.
- JW replies to Estevez2014I got the same messages and had the same threats. I filed a complaint with my State Attorney Generals office and they are researching it. I was told that many people in my area were also receiving the same calls and the same threats. I was told to reject any future calls from this company or let them know that I have contacted the Attorney General's office. THIS IS A SCAM. If a company is going to serve you papers that are not going to warn you that they are.
- wifey1I received a voicemail from this number saying that they had a legal document and they were going to deliver it today at my home or work. I googled this number before making any other steps and im glad i found this site. They are definitely a zombie debt collection agency and they have no power to do anything to you. I will not answer unknown calls anyways so even if i did owe on a debt sol law has been well past 15 years ago. I had my credit report ran by my lawyer and there is nothing on there saying im in collections. Good luck to this false company. They bought an old debt to make money and put it in their pocket. Maybe i should get into this business of scaring people out of money lol..

- KristinaJust received a call from someone named Ashley claiming to be from the county legal offices and asking if I would be home so a summons could be served. The caller ID showed "No Caller ID". I was provided this phone number 866-691-5625 and a case number. I've been receiving numerous calls like this lately, stating that I've taken a payday loan w/ BMG. I've requested that legal documentation be sent through the mail and they have declined stating they can only email it. WRONG, I have a legal right to get any legal correspondence through the US Mail not through email only. Guess I will be changing my number and checking my credit tomorrow.

- checking out my rightsI recieved a call from someone calling himself investigator fields from j.s.r. And associates at 751am. He said they were a firm regarding a legal matter and they needed to contact me at work or home to serve me papers. For one, the collection agencys cant call before 8 am and its illegal for them to say they have summons to serve you over a long lost old debt. Turn them into your attorney general. They can be sued for harassment! Dont forget about your rights! If its an old debt past 7 years they cant do a dang thing. They can try but remember to never acknowledge anything you may owe or it can be put right back on to your credit report.

- hunter replies to Estevez2014i got the same call today when i asked from were she then gives me the number to call. same person that i spoke with that said she was from the county court house is the same person i spoke with when i dailed the number.
- Michelle| 1 replySame as others. Says she is from the department of legal services and there are 2 complaints aginst my name and my last 4 social security number - which they knew. Said I needed to call them back at 866-691-5625, and said I needed to prove my identitiy when I called. Said that they would serve me papers at home or at work, and gave me a case number to refernce when I called back.
- Same here replies to MichelleI got a similar call today from "Angel Jones" of "The Department of Legal Services". There was no mention of my employment but she did mention getting legal papers served. She said almost everything you stated and gave that same number but said she would be sending someone out to get me if neither myself nor my legal representative responded. Fortunately, I don't answer blocked calls so after listening to the voicemail twice, I decided to see who else has been threatened.
