So I ended up calling them back from skype....

The lady answered the phone and said she was from "rogers" calling about a special offer.  She immediately asked me for my name and address to pull up my account.

I kept silent throughout the whole thing until she hung up....

sounds a bit sketchy to me....

Did the same thing as CptG.  I called back, listened to her pitch about my alleged special offers.  I asked her if there was any way to verify that she was actually a Rogers employee and she hung up on me in mid-sentence.  I seriously doubt real Rogers staff are trained to hang up on customers mid-call.

I'm with Rogers and this number calls several times a week - sometimes 2-3 times in one day...don't answer because it's just a waste of your minutes.

Called my Rogers cell phone a few minutes ago. I let it go to voicemail and they didn't leave a message.

Spam call, apparently from Rogers but the number traces back to Verizon in the States.  She said that they were contracted by Rogers to call their cell users to offer lower cost LD.  Sounds like the kind of scam Rogers might pull.  I ported my number away from Rogers a while ago.

Still calls my Rogers cell phone all the time. More-or-less every two days. Two or three times each day that it does.

    Okay, it actually is Rogers.
They have been calling my LAND LINE (which is a Shaw digital phone line) repeatedly- several times a day- about my Rogers wireless cell phone. I am on the National Do Not Call list- that fact that they are calling me from Canada makes it an illegal call. I have been hung up on, too.
Yes, they are calling about "GREAT DEALS and OFFERS", but they do not know who I am or what my account info is since they are making calls on a "dialer" and only have my phone number on outgoing calls. When they receive an incoming call, they need all my info to look up my account to see what "DEAL" I am eligible for.

When I told them to remove my # from their list, the REP told me that "since I have a contract with Rogers, they DO have a right to call" me.

I asked for the supervisor and had to be fairly insistent to get my name off the list. She says it can take 30 days and I will get calls in the meantime!!

I have received these annoying calls several days per week, sometimes every day. When I finally answered one of these calls, the callers voice kept breaking up, and when I mentioned it, she hung up!
I did hear enough to know it was to sell me something.
Rogers, you've had enough money out of me! Stop calling or having other companies call for you.
Give some of that money spent on outsourcing, back to your customers.
I USE MY CELL PHONE FOR IMPORTANT CALLS, STOP WASTING MY TIME ON THERE WITH SALES.

    annoyed too
this number is constantly calling me as well and hanging up.
so i asked around and it looks like it's a scam of sorts. I asked a Rogers rep too - a real one -  even though/if someone calling you says they're representing Rogers, that doesn't rmean they are, especially if they have to ask you for all sorts of personal info [Rogers has this info already and would only need you to verify it, not give it again].

don't bother answering to this number and have it blocked if you need/want to.

This number has been calling me twice a day for the past couple weeks. The same thing happens to me: I pick up the phone and either hear a bit of static or the person hangs up. I just reported this to Rogers Wireless through their email feedback (http://www.rogers.com/web/content/contactus#). I think if enough people report it they'll do something about it.

After a while I did give them a call back as well. It is Rogers offering some special promotions (they told me my address after I declined to verify it). I asked them to remove my phone number from the system, they very quickly agreed mentioning that it might take up to 30days. (didn't even have to talk to a supervisor like in the case of Pippa B).

Silly Rogers, as if people don't hate them enough already.

The call is legitimately from Rogers, but it's their telemarketing people who have no access to your information. All they know is that you are requesting this call whenever they have deals to convey. How do they know that you are interested? Because Rogers, the sneaks, leave ALL the marketing preferences checked by default on your profile! If you have a Rogers account online, log in, look on the left side of the page and, under Profile Information, you will see a link to Update Marketing Permissions. I just went in and unchecked all of them and will be monitoring this to ensure Rogers doesn't re-check them "by mistake" on their next web site upgrade! If you don't have an online account to manage your phone/cable/wireless, phone their help line and have your number removed from all texts, emails, telemarketing and direct mail.

I hate these people, they call on both the cell and home phones.  I already have the entire Rogers bundle including cable and internet, but they still call for what purpose?  They can't sell more?
