- TennesseeReceived a call today, 5-22-2012, from 876-396-5022 -- computerized voice saying I'd won a new BMW and a cashier's check for delivery to Tennessee (my home state), all from Publisher's Clearing House. Well, knowing that publisher's clearing house is (1) in the habit of surprising people with their prizes and (2) capable of paying a live person to make a phone call and (3) that they require actual entries for their prizes, I said I didn't get it, that it sounded like a scam to me. The line immediately disconnected from the caller's end. Just as I suspected. Don't buy it people. If you get a call like this, just hang up. Don't be a victim. Peace.
- Auntie ckReal person called my cell. Poor connection. Something about Publishers Clearing House. No doubt a SCAM since I've never submitted any entries & VERY few people have my private cell #. BLOCKED the number from cell ph. (VERIZON allows up to 5 numbers blocked for Free, valid for 90 days.) This is the 2nd number I've (EVER) had to block & both were from 876/Jamaica. 1st one was 5/30/12.

At first thought it was a recording since the call sounded automated, however the caller's responses indicated that he/she was using a voice scrambler. This person, an "Omar Goldberg" claimed to be from the post office and stated that I have a package from PCH which consisted of $1.6 million and a new Range Rover. Since I had never entered a PCH sweepstakes, I was not amused. Omar stated, "you don't seem to excited about receiving this package". I stated that "I don't think this is legit" to which Omar replied, "well then it's not legit", and then hung up the phone. I could also hear a TV in the background.
Thanks for an interesting morning, Omar! - MGM| 4 repliesI received a call from this number, I usually keep them on the line as long as I can or have them call me back several times before they quit (just because I like to mess with them). They were excited for me to win 2.7 million and a new 2014 Lincoln Navagator WOW!!!!!!! one miner problem they needed $1,755.00 on a green dot card from one of several places (a pre-paid credit card) they tell you that you are not to scratch the card until the people arrive with your winnings, but the scratch off only tells what you have on the card which will be $0.00 when they are finished. I told them I was a poor construction worker and could not come up with the $, they called me back with great news, I only needed $399.00 and they would carry the rest. I will see how long they keep calling me to see if I have the green dot card yet. Too funny and too bad that people will actually provide this to them.

- George| 2 repliesI received a call from a "Michael Sharp" phone number (876)396-5022 he sounded as if he was trying to disguise his voice. He said he was calling from the publishers clearing house and that I have won $1.4 million tax free and a mercedez benz. The only thing I needed to do is go to Wal-Mart and get a "receipt" for $699.05 (assuming a money order) to pay the delivery fee that goes directly to the IRS. Two lawyers will show up to deliver the $1.4 million dollars and at the same time pick up the $699.05 "receipt". Once the receipt is confirmed they will hand over the winning prize money and the car. Supposedly they will go with me to the bank of my choice and make the deposit. He said something about state farm paying for fuel for the next 2 months. He also gave me check s/n, federal #, and a package code. He was asking how I was feeling about winning these prizes, I said it felt weird because I did not believe it until all the prizes were in my possession. Besides, who wins $1.4 million tax free? I make $35k a year and I still have to pay taxes on that?
