This is most def FRAUD attemt to steel y

Warning to anyone recieving a call from "Doug Manning" (i assume fictitious name he uses)  claiming that a co-worker, daughter, cousin, aunt, sibling, anyone you know owes a debt and that you will be subpoena.  This is a lie and the debt is not a valid debt.  It is uncertain how they are getting information on old debts that have already been paid, it is fraudulent.  The law requires written statements to be mail for any legitimate debt.   People PLEASE read the laws of debt collecting, there are too many fraudulent SOB's out there steeling.   he first call I recieved was from 765-450-5078  -

The company name given to me was Bronstein, Shultz, & Peterson, which is not ligit, and does not function under the laws of our government.  They have used many other names for themselves as well as many other names for the company they claim to work for.  They also have many many different 877 800 numbers as well as reg phone.  The did not even have the amount right, they did not have the correct NAME, the debt was most certainly handled two+ years ago and is not valid debt.  They claimed to only accept info through FAX or E-mail, but that is not what the law requires of them so first sign of a FRAUD attempt to steel your money!!!

My friend was harrassed on the phone and he did NOT want her to get off the phone to research her payment without giving him a check number and making a payment arrangement on a debt she had already paid off two years prior,  He also told her the account had been closed which was a LIE, he also told her that her debt had many fees so she owed over $1000 more then what the original debt was.  She refused to give him any info until she researched herself and she found out that YES she had already paid this debt.

They are being sued by the state of NY and others and will continue changing their names and numbers until they are physically caught!!!   BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!    FRAUD!!!!!!!!!!!

Other 800 number to research is  800-375-3009 - and i have no idea how many others are on this site with WARNINGS!!!!!!!

What was the outcome of this situation?  How long ago did this happen?  What state does the victim reside in? What type of debt did they say he owe? How do you know that they are being sued by the state of NY? What are the charges?

they just called me as well for a payday loan from 2 years ago.  They called me yesterday as well(didn't answer) but he told me they just received my *case* today, really so why did you call yesterday..bull crap! They said that I never paid this payday loan, which I most certainly did. I am getting my info so they can see this. Douglas Manning is the same person who called me, guess he's the only *attorney* working there.

STOP BANK FRUAD replies to This is most def FRAUD attemt to steel y

I have dealt with this man he just honestly want you to pay your loan off that you got on line thru a payday loan branch so why do we always call these people that earn there money honestly, just happen to be threw collections, at least they do not take out all these payday loans then when its time to pay them back you all act as if someone is defrauding you when in general law if you take out a loan its your responsibility to pay it back regardless who is hired to have you pay the loan back. so all that think this way should really just get an honest job and pay your bills you would have to take your time out to try to make a company look fraudulent when its you defrauding a bank.

    Going to bust you
Bronstein Shultz and Peterson is registered as an LLC in Kokomo, Indiana, as of 3/1/2010.  They are scam artists involved in a Ponzi scheme with the busted company called Money & More, which is being investigated by the Utah County prosecuter's office:'

    http://heraldextra.com/news/local/article_ab7 ... da9abcd444.html

I believe that either Money & More illegally sold people's information to Bronstein Shultz and Peterson Or ARE Bronstein Shultz and Peterson.  Regardless, these guys are going to be busted ASAP as the FBI has been notified in addition to attorneys generals offices in MN and IN.

If you have been contacted by Bronstein Shultz and Peterson, please contact your attorney general ASAP.

Additionally, there is no Douglas Manning registered with the BAR in Indiana.  CON ARTIST...watch out...any money you send will be lost and he is trying to steal your identity

    Here is their supposed location:

    2008 S ELIZABETH ST, KOKOMO, IN 46902

Doesn't look like much like the office of a legitimate attorney.

honestly pay your debt you owe
Can someone tell the truth to the matter at hand after real research on this firm Bronstein, Shults, & Peterson L.L.C they have not had any law suits they are not established in New York State and have not been sued by that state or being sued by that state, this sound as if you all just should not have taken out your loans if you did not desire to pay them back and under the law your responsible to pay them back, these company's do have the right within the law of each state can come after you for there money.

you really sound like a scam replies to Going to bust you
Just becuase a agency buying debt honestly that may have had alot of accounts or consumers that have paid is it there fualt, only thing that company can do is move on after you tell them or show them that you paid your loan. Money and More on the other hand this is very bad that you would not have better records that would prevent honest consumers. I think the problem is you all are looking at this person as an attorney and he is not or has he protrayed to be an attorney. Who would want to steal the identity of people that do not pay their loans or bills would be beyound us all, keep this real this is everyones life, people that owe and do not owe loans, and people that honestly make a living from collections practices that should be done within the FDCPA and STATE LAWS, we should not crucify them for others(loaning institute) short handlings.

    Seriously
These people are trying to collect on loans that were paid off two years ago.  They are not following debt collection procedures (they have not put anything in writing)

Bronstein Shultz & Peterson has not been sued by NY, but the man claiming to be Douglas Manning used to call and harrass people under the name Empire State Recovery.  He has been up to his illegal tricks since at least 2009...probably earlier...check out other 800notes posts:

IDENTITY THEFT~~~~ SCAM!!  .......Bronstein, Shultz and Peterson is scam. Do NOT give these people the time of day. I think they are trying to pull identity theft. I owed a payday loan place Money and More which is now out of business. I do owe money to Money and More but this company is not an authorized collection company for them. I was threatened with law suits so I payed them with a debit card over the phone which they told me they also needed my driver license number. 2 days later I get a call from "Doug Manning" says he got a memo on his desk that credit card companies are declining payment (it cleared my bank fine). And says that he wants me to dispute the charge and give him a "check by phone". Well... That sounded fishy to me right off the bat. So now they have my debit card#, my diver license # and now they want my bank routing and account#. Not going to happen, I have my bank investigating..

Why is it that the only people that try complaining is the peple that OWE some type of debt, stop slandering this company becuase you think that makes everything okay on you stealing money from these company's, they also have families to take care of, they buy deliquent debt most of the time from company's that have to go out of business from to many people like you all that don't pay their bills, if you paid your bills from the start you would not have to hear from anyone, and further more if they don't call you on it someone will. who's really a SCAM a registered company with the state and better business burea, or a person that takes out multiple payday loans(THAT ARE TWO WEEK LOANS) and emediately close there checking accounts so the company that gave you the money can not get there money back. So you should think on that for a while and tell yourself if i was in their shoes what would i do call these people that owe money from getting a loan or just let them go keep doing the same thing to different loan company's, and run to the internet to put false information on line so people can keep feeding into it. Further more think about it if they call you they already have your information why would they need anything else, also why would they STEAL THE IDENTITY of people that don't pay there bills, you don't have any GOOD CREDIT for them to steal.

Who really have tricks a COLLECTION COMPANY or PEOPLE that trick company's into giving them loans then close there same bank account that money was placed into TWO WEEKS EARLIER??????? I mean some times these peple do not follow all the rules to the T, but if all people that take out loans was honest, then I doubt these people would think the only way I can get these people to pay us our money back is to make it seem as an extreme situation just to get people to call and pay there bills.

WHO'S SCAMMING WHO replies to This is most def FRAUD attemt to steel y
WHO'S SCAMMING WHO? That is the big question, on one side you have people that take out multiple loans(THAT ARE ONLY TWO WEEK LOANS), on the other side you have COLLECTION AGENCIES that have been said to use tactics that are not compliant with F.D.C.P.A LAWS, People should consider that if you pay your loans off under the terms provided you would never be contacted by any type of COLLECTION AGENCY. But if you do not some agency if not Bronstein, Shultz, and Peterson,  will contact you, thats just the facts to these matters. So instead of all the excusses, and complaining of being contacted, just start paying your loans or just do not borrow the money at all and you will not have to waste your time putting sinceless things on the internet. Last but not least who would want to scam a person THAT HAS BAD CREDIT AND DON'T PAY THERE LOANS, would be beyound me, so if someone could explain that on this web page i will be waiting for that ANSWER.

This is a scam.  I had already paid back my loan years ago and have evidence.  There is no need to fax personal information to a company.  This is not the proper system for debt collection in the first place.  No attempt to collect has ever been made in writing....because....there is no legitimate debt to collect. Call your attorney general.  A debt collection agency also may not threaten you with criminal suits, which is what this "company" did to me over the phone.
