- TCollection Agency, calling on behalf of XM Radio. If you decide not to renew your XM subscription, the bast#@ds will: set a collection agency on you; make you burn up your cell phone minutes in their automated calling system; then tell you you owe them; AND only when you request an invoice for the amount they say you owe them, will they actually send you a bill!!! I have been a loyal, pay-on-time customer for three years; now I will report them to my state's attorney general and the Better Business Bureau for a $25 bill that I don't owe them!!! I hear these guys are on the verge of bankruptcy, no wonder why...

- Craig| 1 replyThe above person was correct... The 877-683-1155 is a collection agency for XM Radio. They gave me a number 800-967-2346 to call XM. I called and they said that I still owed 25.90. The lady at the collection agency said I was delequent on my account. I told her that there is no way that could be simply because I have auto pay.. I told her I cancelled my account and she said I still have an outstanding bill. How? I will fight this until the end.

- RK| 1 replyAutomated message about an "important business matter." Did not mention XM. Makes sense it is XM since these pricks changed my subscription without my consent and now want me to pay for it. The controversy has resulted in them cutting my service early. No way am I sending them money. No way!

- Ken replies to RKXM Radio, even though I let my account cancel, I didn't call and notify them so I had to pay for the extended service. So I paid the $30.00 and kept the account closed.
- AmyI googled the phone number instead of calling it, as it never identified on whose behalf they were calling. As noted here, the call was actually from XM Radio. I called the XM customer service number instead. As with the others, I thought my account was closed but they billed an extra quarter. I verified twice with the XM rep that the phone call I got was from a division of XM and not an outside collection agency, so my credit report is not actually affected. I do not have time to deal with this so I paid the amount, verified twice that my account is CLOSED and that I will not receive any more bills or literature from them. I will not use their service again because of this.
- RosewoodConfirmed it is XM radio Collections. As with any collections agency they either want you to pay or not, and that is about all they will talk to you about.
You will want to call 1-800-XM-Radio if you actually want to dispute anything.- Caller: XM Radio

- MJR| 1 replyReceived a call from 877-683-1155 as an Important Business Matter.
Called the number and was advised this was a collection agency for XM Radio.
Never received anything by mail from this collection company.
Received an invoice from XM for renewing but there is no requirement to notify them of renewing. Just did not pay the renewal fee.
Hired an attorney to send a "cease and disist" letter and filed a complaint with the Texas Attorney General.
XM Radio has still not provided anything in their contract to show proof that a former subscriber is obligated to pay a 30 day grace period fee if you do not formally cancel the account.
I will not pay the bill. I will pay whatever it costs in attorney's fees to kill this. My attorney indicated that this practice is illegal and the only way it will be stopped is to challenge it through the Attorney General.- Caller: ???

- DanI got my call last night. CCA calling to collect $150.00 unpaid ballance on an account I closed last year. When I asked CCA for specifics, they sent me back to XM. The folks at XM said I owe $4.00 (never have been billed or notified). When I was talking to the folks at XM, 2 of the reps told me they would have to reopen my account to disscus the issue. Not going to happen - I think this is the real intent - to get you to reopen the account and get new credit card info. I have asked XM to send me an invoice for any balance I may owe. Stay tuned.....

- Linda| 12 repliesI just had an amazing conversation. I have perfect credit, am never late and I received a very mysterious message that this is a collection call. It seems it was a collection agency hired by XM Radio. I decided not to renew my subscription and they claimed their policy is to leave the service on for 2 extra months after the cut off date and it was our responsibility to pay them $30.00 for that service, even though I didn't ask for it. We told them to take a hike. I'm appalled that XM Radio would resort to such tactics.
- Paul| 1 replyGot a call from this same number. Sure enough it was XM. They offered to give me 2 months for free even though my account is expired. So I said yes, thankfully I never gave them my CC info. Told the lady she doesn't need it if its free.
Currently on hold to tell these idiots to take their service and well, put it where the sun isn't shiny...- Caller: CCA

- PI$$ED OFF replies to Linda| 3 repliesFunny, i got a call from this 877-683-1155 number and it is indeed XM Radio! I could not believe it! Sent them a nasty email we will see what happens. They must really be hurting for business.
- PI$$ED OFF| 2 repliesWe got a call from this 877-683-1155 today that is indeed XM Radio. I just emailed XM RADIO about it....not sure what good it will do. We were told last month our service was up for renewal, we simply did not send anything back because we did not want to renew it. We don't even have the service anymore. So they turn us over to collection?? As far as we are concerned we owe them nothing...we never signed a contract. they must really be hurting for business.
- PI$$ED OFF replies to Craigthis is what they are telling us also. That we owe $27.75 which is bullcrap. We paid the FULL AMOUNT at the time of renewal last year and had it billed to our credit card. Now they wait an entire year to tell us we have an outstanding balance? And why weren't we sent a notice of this "supposed" outstanding balance. BBB is gonna get a call from me.
- PI$$ED OFF| 1 replyJust filed claim with BBB, i suggest everyone else do the same.
- Molly replies to LindaSame thing happened to us! We were called when we first bought our vehicle and they explained options and if we liked the service we could subscribe. Well, we didn't use the service so we didn't subscribe and now they are trying to collect money saying we subscribed! I will never use this XM radio now! We also have perfect credit and if this hurts our credit I will call the Better Business Buereau!
- Angry XM SubscriberUnbelievable. Paid it off. Will never subscribe to XM again.
- William D Brooks| 1 replyJust received a recorded message on my home phone that stated I needed to call 1-877-683-1155 ASAP regarding an outstanding debt I owned them. First of all I have perfect credit and do not have outstanding debts. When I called this number I found out if was for an XM radio I had that has not been active for over 2 years. What a scam.

- Ram|bunc|tiousI got the call today. I never re-upped my XM subscription a few months ago so it looks like they tried to submit the bill to an expired credit card (several times). I called XM (1-800-XM-RADIO, 967-2346) and told someone with broken Engrish to close my account - I have not authorized any additional service or billing. I called the collections service, told them XM agreed to waive my charges (a bit of a stretch) and the guy told me he would note that on the account.
I don't plan on paying a dime if this didn't work. If someone has an easy way (other than paying ~$30) to avoid this from becoming a nightmare, please share.- Call type: Debt collector
