- xyz| 1 replyReceived an automated and rather vague message in my answering machine, from what sounded like "EOS PCA" (a collection agency), regarding an obscure debt that I allegedly owe. This "out of the blue" message is weird.... I owe no debt of any kind to any individual or business entity. My online research indicates that the caller's number is associated with XM Radio, and it appears that this is nothing more than a harassing call from a crooked and hungry company, dangerously close to EXTORTION. A class action suit against XM Radio, if ever initiated, should teach the company a good lesson in ethics and respect for the U.S. citizenry.

Why it is SO IMPORTANT to at least CONSULT with an attorney

I called XM Radio to complain and have been on hold forever. The supervisor came on the line and refused to even discuss the issue saying if you don't call then you go to collections because of the automatic renewal. I called the "collection agency" supervisor was busy and I had to leave a message. I will tell everyone I can about XM radio. Please post if a class action lawsuit is started.

- Rich replies to Andrea ChimouresSame thing with me. I called them when I got their first $35 bill 6 months after the subscription ended. The guy on the other end was aggressive and obnoxious and pissed me off. When I flat out told him I wasn't paying for service I didn't ask for, he hung up.
Now another bill and phone calls, so next is a letter. Further action to the Massachusetts Attorney General, the BBB and the Consumer Protection Agency will follow if they don't remove the charge and stop the harrassment. - glhotdogTrying to collect on a bill XM Radio for a former vehicle. XM called prior to sale of vehicle to renew, and were told that the programming would not be renewed. Now they want to collect based on a renewal clause in their contract. I guess their sales department for renewals doesn't talk to their billing department. Probably not departments, rather, different telemarketing organizations. The renewal fee will not be paid!

- Eileen SchulzThis is the second month in a row that I have called XMRadio customer service regarding the Collection Agency call. I posted to this site my experience last month, same as most people's on this website. I had the service for a 5 month period, paid for with a check. Received a renewal notice, wrote cancel sent back, emailed and called customer serv. to cancel. Last month collection agency calls, wants $26.02. Spent 1/2 hour on the phone w/Cust. service. Was assured that my acct. stands at a zero balance; Cust. Serv. acknowledged I had canceled. Received another call from Collection Agency from XM, again wanting their $26.02. The irony of all this..two weeks ago I received a CHECK from XM for $26.02! Cust. rep. today said it was for service I didn't use. Again today, 'Josh' (I'm sure it was Peggy) assured me I will not receive anymore calls from collection agency, do not owe XMRadio any money. What a horrible company!

- Richard BrianI liked xm radio but it became too expensive so we dropped it my closing our auto-pay to them they stopped our ability of using xm radio -- that is what we wanted in the first place. That was around September 2010 and now at the end of 2010 we are reciving calls for 877-683-1155. I tried to resolve this by calling them and never got through to them. Then, I research the number and found all these messages from people who are reporting the same problem.

- kateI canceled my XM account in December. I called again yesterday as it was not canceled. Today-one day later, a collection agency calls. I just spoke with XM radio just now. They tell me there is a balance on the account. They i not tell me this yesterday when I called. The woman I spoke with (the call center is in India) said that she and her supervisor would take care of the account and to call back in a week to check. I am forwarding this to the Better Business Bureau.
Thank you to all of you who posted comments. I have outstanding credit and really resent this tactic that damages my credit even if it is resolved.- Caller: 1-877-683-1155

- sickandtiredofitThis started back in the spring when I received a notice from XM Radio saying they wanted to change the way my bill was paid.(it was automatically paid from my credit card, or from my checking acct....I don't remember which ) I DO remember that I objected to the way they wanted me to pay, and wrote to cancel my subscription. Then began the barrage of calls I'm now receiving.
I just received yet another call from 877-683-1155. I called back and spoke to a woman named Maya. I told her I suspected she was calling from a division of XM Radio about an account I no longer had. She said she was from an outside collection agency, and not with XM Radio.
. After speaking with her, and getting no satisfaction, I called XM Radio at 1-800-967-2346. This is the third time I've called, trying to fix this...each time being told I have no balance on my account. They canceled the charges the first time I called.
I asked if there was anything they could do to stop the collection agency from calling me.The rep was apologetic, but said they could not call the collection agency and stop it. He there was nothing they could do because the charges still were in the system, although marked as "written off". Even though my balance is zero, every time "the computer goes trolling through the customer list it notices this dollar amount on the account and automatically sends it off to collections. " He further went on to say he was sorry that this "written off amount might negatively affect my credit information." I said," So what you're saying is this is caused by a computer ignoring a zero balance and charging me over and over again for a ' written off balance'....can't you fix the computer problem?" He said no. I told him if I got a negative credit report with this, I was going to call everyone I could think off, BBB, FTC, Attorney General, etc.
He then suggested since I had paid by credit card before, he would do further checking if I gave him the credit card number. I told him we lost all our credit cards and have new ones, so that wouldn't be helpful to him.
The conversation ended with me saying that although I once considered renewing my subscription, I no longer had any desire to renew. I thought this was sad and not very good PR, since I had been a customer of 6 years, and previously very happy with them.
Ah well, I'll miss the music and the detective stories, etc. I'm so sorry they merged with Sirius.- Caller: -877-683-1155

- Michael FitterlingI, too, received an automated call telling me to call this number. They identified themselves as "EOS PCA, a collection agency". I find no license for an entity named that at the Florida Office of Financial Regulation, which I understand is mandatory for any business doing collections in Florida.
I suspect this is also an XM/Sirius Radio collection call as I have received a call before regarding this. (I have been waiting for an operator to answer right now for about 20 minutes so far to confirm this.) I told them then that I had not renewed, but when I did receive a bill in the mail for $42.86 I paid it and noted on the bill my cancellation, and the agency said they saw that and I woudl not be contacted further regarding this.
Another thing I noted is that XMRadio is under investigation by The Attorney General of the State of Florida for this practice: http://www.myfloridalegal.com/lit_ec.nsf/inve ... 525770B004C6C12

- Kelly HI received a call from this phone number today (Jan. 19, 2011) as well. When I tried calling back, I received a busy signal and then the call was disconnected. I made 4 attempts to reach somebody at this number before giving up and looking the number up online. I did have an XM Radio account, however, I was being billed for a subscription that I did not have. When I tried to rectify the situation, XM radio employees promised to get in touch with me (I have the emails to prove it) and then I never heard from them. They've since cancelled my subscription and have stopped billing me. I will continue looking into this with a follow up to the Better Business Bureau.

- never will useDid not renew my XM radio and was turned into collection for 54.77. Contacted collection agency and was told that this amount was due XM. In turn contact XM, and was informed that the renewal is automatic unless you call and cancel. Which I did in Sept, , this is Feb and I am still being troubled by them. I informed the manager that it was illegal to renewal something without my approval. AND since I did call and cancel how can I be billed for this. I was told they found where I called and will remove the 54.77. I will never use XM again.... I support a class action lawsuit against them.
- Concerned consumerI, too, have been hosed by SiriusXM. I found this on another consumer website, for those who are interested. He appears to be legit.

Are you interested in suing XM radio?
I'm a licensed California attorney. I'm looking into a possible class action against them based on deceptive trade practices. The claim is currently being researched. You do not pay anything to participate.
My email address is Afarsadlaw@gmail.com.
If you, are any other similarly situated people are interested in suing XM radio, please send me an email and include your contact information. Further, a brief description of your issue -- when you signed up, and what happened when you tried to cancel, would be great.

- Lonesome CrumbI received a phone call 2 days after cancelling my account. I tried to return the call (in the evening) and there was no answer. I found this forum and saw the post several pages back with Mel Karmian's email address. I wrote an email and received a phone call today from someone named Elanor. She wanted me to call her back. I went ahead and paid the bill in full last night after talking with someone at customer service who didn't want to hear anything I had to say. If you want the phone number that Ellenor left it is 866-610-6195 Ext # 349
Below is the email I sent after talking with customer service:
I have been a customer of XM since 2005, but due to my circumstances, I could no longer afford my subscriptions.
I reluctantly cancelled, however, I’m already receiving a call from a so-called collection agency which really turns out to be a number from XM radio.
I really enjoyed XM while I had it and thought that I might re-subscribe when my position was better to afford it, but after the treatment that I have received, including being transferred several times, yelled at and then hung up on, I really do not feel that I will do that. I have even begun to tell my friends about the treatment and am considering publishing it on a web site and joining in a lawsuit that includes others in the same position as I.
I don’t feel that it’s fair to continue to bill me for service that I didn’t use and wasn’t canceled when requested. I do not feel that it’s fair to try and squeeze $70 from me and to already begin sending me threatening, recorded phone calls from 1-877-683-1155
I would appreciate any kind of response that you can provide me. Please do not disregard this email.

I still will never renew my subscription as it really is cheaper to just by an mp3 player and plug it into your stereo. BTW, I had 3 subscriptions. My 2 portable units are still working, however the one in my car was shut off within the "48 hours" that was left as a message on my phone the day I cancelled.- Call type: Debt collector
- DonReceived an automated call from EOCCA? They said I should call 877-683-1155 to discuss an unpaid debt. I called the number and received an automated response that it was EOCCA and I would be connected to the next available operator. I was connected to an extension that rang 25 - 30 times. A person answered and I responded that I had just received an automated call from this number - she hung up. I tried to call back several times and received a repeated "busy" tone. I too had just delt with XM Radio. I paid for service from 12/26/09 to 12/26/10 by check because I didn't want them to auto renew on my credit card. Then I find out in February that they auto renewed my contract anyway. On Sat 3/5/11, I spoke with the people at XM and told thek I didn't want the service and wasn't going to pay the bill (total $46.80 for 2 month)s. He told me that the charges were dopped and I would not be hearing from them again. On Monday 3/7/11, I received the call from EOCCA.

- knowsbetter3I just got a call from this number today. I called XM radio customer service and sure enough they sent my account to a collection agency on 3/15. I lease my cars and turn the last on in on 11/27. I was told today that the amount I owe was 38.07 covering a period of 12/18/10 to 3/10/11. So let me get this straight, they want me to pay for service when I did not have the vehicle and sent it to a collection agency?? They sent off a request to their billing department and I should hear back from them in 7 to 10 business days. I sure hope this will be be reflected on my credit bureau- so once again as a consumer I have to continue to make calls to ensure that people do their job. Sounds like a call will be placed to the Better Business Bureau.
