Called to both of my home phone and cell. phone to ask the person we don't know.

Did not clearly state company name

CSR Crystal at FMA Alliance called from 877-839-9070, her extension is 3137. Address was given to me as FMA Alliance, 11811 North Freeway Suite 900, Houston, TX 77060. She claimed I owed the full balance of a credit card I paid off in late 2006/early 2007. She was incredibly rude and tried to talk over me, just like all of the other CSR's that have called me from this company. I receive these calls non-stop. I contacted the credit card company and confirmed I had paid off completely, so I contacted the attorney general who told me to get the company's address and mail them a certified letter with return receipt stating that they are not to contact me again.

Has called 4 times already. I pick up and noone seems to answer/

thanks for the info.  i called "miss berry" back (her extension is 3133) with an blocked ID phone, and it's true!  there she was....

i didn't say anything; i just let her say her company name and hello..., hello...., hello....  then she hung up.

i can waste their time and pester them too!!

btw, i did this many times over in a row; so can you!!! hahaa

Was called today.  Deidra Taylor ext 3136 called asking for information regarding a nephew of mine.  She wanted all phone numbers and told me it had nothing to do with debt collection - now I see that obviously she lied.  YUCK!

they call me everywhere at home, work or cell don't know anything about them, I don't owe any money or they're calling the wrong number

I received a call today saying that the message was about a debt that was owed.  I just pulled my credit report a week ago and everything is good.  Should I ignore the call?  How do they get our number

call us constantly, home phone 5+ times daily and hubby's cellphone as often. We don't answer our phone any more. Just checked his, it's fine, mine is screwy (but has been for a few years now).  this is very frustrating.

Man called on 26 Oct 2009 asking for my brother (correct name) who lives in another state and whether I'd give him my brother's phone number.  I did not.  He said it was a personal matter and please pass his number (877) 839-9070 x3150 to my brother.  I did not.  He claimed his name is Jeff Halloway.  Voice sounded very unprofessional, which is what raised my suspicions.  This didn't sound so much like debt collection unless they have a new guy; it sounded more like some dropout trying his amateurish hand at a phishing scam.

877-839-9070 ext. 314 left a message which was barely audible, looking for my wife. I tried calling them back and says "FMA Alliance". I told the her that I was returning a call from that number and wanted to know my wife's name and so I did but not the whole nine yards since I was suspicious of her barely audible and asking more information, that she was checking in her account.I told her that by the phone number she can find out who she was looking for but she seems she more into trying to ask me to give more information. I told her she was just "phising" and a scam.told her to take me off the list.

You can register your phone to this site. I am wondering, how did they get through my number when I had registered it the first time a few years ago when it started.

Unfortunately, if it's a debt collector, the do not call list doesn't apply.  :(

They keep calling my cell phone but never leave a message

My caller ID showed this number came in while I was away and I called it back and it was FMA Alliance.  The person named "Steve" at EXT 3145 shared that they were needing to talk to the power of attorney or my father.  They didn't have my name just my phone number.

Steve told me he needs me to fax my POA papers for my dad to his fax number 281-670-1561 and then they would release the paperwork to my attention.

I am concerned. I shared my father is in no trouble and he doesn't have credit cards, loans, bank accounts because he is in an adult home and receives only $60 per month after paying off rent.

That is when I had my hubby research this company.  Here we are.  I am reporting this so that you all know.

I guess it's FMA Alliance. But I notice they call from a few different numbers.  I just got 3 calls that started at 8:08 this morning and the last was at 9:54.Funny though,the 2nd and 3rd were only 12 minutes apart. Didn't bother to leave a message, and I figure if you don't leave a message, there's no reason for me to call you back!!

All companies - not just credit collection companies - are starting to spoof their numbers and caller ID's. It's easy now with all the VOIP services (like vonage, google voice, skype, etc)  - there are even companies that you can pay a monthly fee and make your caller id anything. Federal law hasn't kept up - the National Do-Not-Call is now worthless.

ALSO, with the last link in mind - here are many calls that originate outside the US (both callers and ID Spoofers) that show up as US numbers which Federal Law has no jurisdiction over (i.e. India, the Grand Caymans, Nigeria, etc).

Caller claimed to be a collection agency and wanted to know if a banked with Bank of America.  I refused to answer and requested, and received  a call back number. When I attempted to call that number I was informed that it had been disconnected.  I suspect an ID theft attempt.
