- CB| 1 replyGot a call from 877-839-9070. A Ms. White. Asking me if I knew First_Name Last_Name, who happens to be a neighbor of mine. Said she was 'handling his file'. I asked her who she was and what 'file' she was handling. She then promptly hung up on me.

- Deb replies to CBCB - she hung up because what she was doing is illegal. They are never support to call neighbors, relatives (unless they were used as a reference for the account in question), places of employment, and so on. Unfortunately there is no enforcement of the federal statues that govern these businesses, and many states have very weak to no laws or rules for junk debt buyers and fly-by-night credit collection companies.
The best thing to do is collect their information, record them (legal in most states, without having to notify them - but check your states laws, easily researchable on the internet) and send the information to your states attorney generals office. - CaguyGot a phone call on my cell phone. Victoria left a message saying she was calling due to the financial agreement I had with them. She never stated the company name or reason for calling but said it was urgent for me to call back at 1-877-839-9070 x3137. When I called back from a different number other than my cell and gave my name, she claimed she has just spoke to me on the phone and took care of it. What does that even mean....

- PamI keep receiving phone calls from 877-939-9070 and they are looking for someone named Cesare Wallick who never had my number. I have an unlisted phone number that I have had for over 30 years. I am tired of these calls and I have repeatedly told these idiots that I do not know the person and he never lived here.
How can I stop these calls which are very intrusive? I am on a do not call list but I still receive these calls for other people that I do not know. I- Caller: FMA Collections

- PsychopawsI received a call this morning (Thursday, February 17th, 2011) from (877) 839-9070 except on my phone (Verizon Wireless; Droid X) there is an application I downloaded which transfers any suspected spam calls or none published number calls directly to voicemail without bothering me. And wouldn't ya know it they didn't leave a voice mail message.

4 calls, so far, to my elderly parents asking for an unknown person (?Leah Everette?) Assurances each time they will not call again & will remove my parents' number from their list....until the next time. Have assured my parents that it's okay to ask the caller, "What is your name? Supervisor's name? Direct calling number", etc. Once we that information we will be filing with the AG's office.- Caller: FMA Alliance of Houston, TX

- John replies to Phone SleuthOf course, federal law did not keep up. The Democrats blew their golden opportunity for banking and insurance regulatory reform, and now the Republicans hold one House of the Congress. Not much hope of any change!
- julie colePlease stop calling me. If it were important you'd leave a message.
