- Doc| 1 replySome kind of health insurance scam.. Phone number listed to a Tracey Hoose on Summit Drive in Big Bear City, CA
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Erin| 1 replySCAM ALERT
They say they are TRICARE and they are going to "send" you meds that you REALLY need ~ thing is with tricare you get your medication at the docs for FREE you don't need a cc over the phone
I kept them on the phone I was polite ~ she had a very heavy (and I mean HEAVY) Indian accent and I can understand accents but hers was bad. She asked for (I think) my husband but the wrong name, so I played along as she asked for me (the female) ~ said she could save me lots of money for the medication for my most troublesome medical issue (they have meds for that - LOL). Anyway I turned it on her and became the ditsy girl (I can turn it on really quickly) and was "like OMG really, really OMG,what is wrong with me, is there something wrong with me? Do you know something I don't know?" She didn't know how to respond ~ which was GREAT ~ her response was we will send you the medication for your most serious issue for a small fee (hint hint ~ scammer alert). I cut her off right there and went to PhD mode and was "lady I know what you are trying to pull, I've already been alerted to this scam. You are a scammer. Let me talk to your supervisor." Her response was to hang up on me.
Vindicated ~ So yes it's a scam - BE alert - and PLEASE have a LOT of fun with them - I did.- Caller: Say's it's TRICARE ~ it's NOT
- Slim replies to Erin>> thing is with tricare you get your medication at the docs for FREE <<
No, not really.
Tricare provides meds either through a local military facility pharmacy, or by mail.
The Dr does not hand them to you, unless they are samples of prescribed meds.
There also may be a small co-pay involved. Tricare announced an increase (to $3.00, I think).
The rest of your post looks pretty accurate, though.
I posted some info about Tricare scams here:
https://800notes.com/arts/I2neMkbUAAo/where-to-report-phone-crime - warriorThey called twice today. Don't recognize the number so don't answer. I have TriCare. So Slim, you are correct. Now that I know who's calling, maybe I will answer it next time. I speak several languages fluently so maybe I can have some fun. By the way, isn't Big Bear Lake where the Bold and the Beautiful is supposed to take place?
- CTThis Tricare scammer calls multiple times of the day/night. The woman speaks with some Indian accent. Appears to be targeting Veterans. What a jerk.
- s metzler| 1 replystop calling me!! I don't need your service. Every time I answer the phone, you hang up on me!!!
- Caller: Cant understand
- Retired Militarythey called me twice today. I called them back, the frist time I got an Indian woman who told me they could help me get my medicines at no cost as long as I was on TRICARE. This took some time because she did not speak in full sentences so you could understand her. I kept asking for a supervisor, she finally said they would not call me again and hung up. I called them back and a man answered saying he was a supervisor. I asked him why his company keeps calling me. He said that he did not call me. I told him I just got off the phone with a woman who could not speak a complete sentence. He got agrivated and hung up on me. I called back this time I got a man who told me he could send me a topical cream to help with my pain. I asked why they keep calling me. He said if I answera few questions he will forward it to a doctor who will approve my condition and send me a prescription cream for my pain. I told him that I do not need any pain medication. He hung up. So just like what everyone else is saying it is a scam. Don't give them any information!

- VIDAYup... idiots... guy calls, could not pronouce my name, and had a VERY VERY HEAVY INDIAN ACCENT! I told him I could not understand him, and he said... "Maybe chew r nut listening"... I told him NOT to call back again.... THEY KEEP CALLING, my cell phone, no less!!
- MiaMy experience has been the same as others. The caller sounds very middle Eastern, mispronounces our name and offers pain medication thru Tricare. Despite the fact that I have strongly refused and asked to be taken off their calling list, I have received multiple phone calls a day. Today I had an American voice call to apologize for the previous call being disconnected and he would like to help me get the pain medication I deserved, thru Tricare. I disconnected that one, too. - VBGirlI have contacted Tricare and made them aware of this. The lady I spoke with had not heard of the scam. Hopefully something will be done.
- Valerie PavlischekThe caller said she was calling for Tricare about medication. Guess what, my husband is a retired reservist and isn't covered by Tricare at this time - hasn't been for 12 years! We have insurance through his employer. I told her that her call was a scam because we didn't have Tricare and I told her we had private insurance and then she had the nerve to ask who it was through. I told her it was none of her business and she hung up on me.
- Jim MerrillSimiliar experience as everyone else here. Next time the number comes up I'm going to answer "FBI".
- denise Hellmann replies to s metzleryep same here ...they hang up when I answer..caller Id says from Big Bear Lake CA
- AScam: They are not supposed to be calling anybody on the do not call list.
- Dave MWe get same calls 3-4 times a day, so after about a week of it, I blocked their number. Another scam they have is when they call, on caller ID your own name and phone number show up. You answer and listen to them with their sales scam, and once you tell them your name and number showed up, so its not possible for you to call yourself, the foreigner hangs up. Also when the Big Bear Lake number shows up as V32817410300004 . Then below that number is 909-547-9868
- Caller: 909-547-9868
- ArtIt looks like a VA SCAM!! Somehow they have gotten info from the VA and using it for their own gain. It is foreign and using a number in the USA. We don't have Tricare but use the VA health system.
- Caller: UNK
- zeusWhen there number shows up on caller ID, answer, and blow a whistle, loudly. They will not call again.

- LTYes, I have been receiving calls from this number for almost 2 weeks now, but we let the answering machine pick up...what is crazy is, they don't know the difference between the answering machine greeting and me answering the phone. So I finally answered the phone and she asked for my husband...jacked his name up, then she asked me if i was his wife and all of these benefits, BUT when she needed to verify my information i said hey, don't you already know that? Well, that was where we hit the roadblock...I told her dont' call back, we don't need their assistance, well, today I get 3 more calls from the same number. I answered the 3rd time and said hey, didn't i talk to you yesterday, did you not understand what i told you yesterday, and she would not respond so i hung up the phone. Well, not 3 hours later, phone rings again and same number...you've got to be kidding me! I answered and same voice, same female accent. I say hey, I'm not sure what the problem is but I've told you to stop calling, what part of that is not registering, so she goes into the spill which I read from other posts about the free medications, blah blah blah...and I gave her the same response...I'm not paying for them now...so stop trying to offer us something that we are not asking for. I then let her know again that if she keeps calling she's not going to get a different person, it's going to continue to be me who answers the phone and I further let her know that she can't even distinguish between the answering machine greeting and me so I definitely don't want her assisting me with anything...so she said she would remove the number and not call. Well, we hung up, but then I called the number back, just to be a pain in the a**. She answered the phone, I said yea, don't call this number back again, I know I told you yesterday and earlier today, but you called back anyway, so I'm calling you back so that you understand I do not want you to call this number. We will see how long it lasts.
