- Wifey replies to Betty WhiteThese idiots call my husband regarding his license getting revoked. While he was speaking with them, I googled the number and all kinds of info came up revealing what a scam this company is. I said how can a debt collection company in Florida have authority to revoke anyone's license? They came off being very aggressive, but if you know your rights, you know how to handle them. Once we informed them that we would record the conversation they immediately hung up.
I called the number back numerous times and informed them that if they want harassing calls, I will give them harassing calls. This is nothing but a group of scammers in a small cramped apartment with computer access to consumer personal files. That's how they get your personal information to make it appear that they are legit, but they are not. Expose them for what they are. These are scammers, they want your money and will use your personal information against you to get it. Don't be fooled, be smart..! - Wifey replies to DeeThese idiots call my husband regarding his license getting revoked. I'm not sure you can call them idiots, they are scammers and we have to stop it.

- KC| 3 repliesDoesn't this fall under some kind of extortion, attempted extortion? What about all those people that actually fell for this scam? Isn't that a federal offense? Does anyone think this is a class action lawsuit waiting to happen?

- LeoFirst, let me explain what is going on here.
I received a call (phone # 941-306-0887) from HK Craig an Associates (534 S Pineapple Ave, Sarasota, FL) in which Mr. Craig demanded money for a car accident that was already settled several years ago.
As far as I understand, Mr. Craig obtained the information about car accidents happening in the past and calls to every party involved. Normally, he does it on weekends when you cannot contact your lawyer or insurance company. During the conversation he demands some money threatening to revoke your driver license if you refuse to pay. If you don’t pay, they will call you once a week and leave threatening messages on your answer machine.
His company doesn’t represent anybody and they have no right to collect any money, so it is clearly an extortion i.e. criminal activity that has to be stopped.
Second, I presume anybody who reads it is smart enough to reject his demand. However, they prey on those who doesn’t (the elderly and such) and that is our obligation to stop them.
Third, we have the following options to do so:
- BBB has nothing to do with that as this is not a legitimate business activity.
- File your complain to the Internet Crime Complaint Center http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm
- Report to the Federal Trade Commission https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en
- Contact your attorney general http://www.naag.org/current-attorneys-general.php and fill in the crime reporting form there
- Inform FBI https://tips.fbi.gov/- Caller: HK Craig & Assocates

- Further Investigation| 2 repliesThis link shows that HK Craig & associates
http://www.corporationwiki.com/Florida/Saraso ... c/29137802.aspx
Names the following officers:
Michael C. Driskel
2148 Hibiscus St
Sarasota, FL 34239
AND
34236 Holdings whose officer is Harry K Rosenblum
If any attorneys are reading this, you might want to investigate and check on class action status.
If they are extorting money and the officers know about it (which obviously they do since Michael CRAIG Driskel is the Mr. Craig we all hear about) then this might be worth the time.- Caller: HK Craig & Associates

- jomama replies to Further Investigation| 1 replyMichael Craig Driskel was in Jail 3 times already and keeps getting bonded out. The police and sheriff will not tell you anything about it and will do nothing about it since they say you are loosing your drivers license to a collection agency. Go on your states bmv website and make sure your license is valid. Do not pay them anything. I have called up affirmative they have nothing on the claim# they give you as it is old and it is the claim file that was taken from a old collection agency that is called Gulf Coast and they are still in business and H K Craig Associates did not but them out. Call your states attorneys office and report them for extortion.
- further investigation replies to jomamaThanks jomama. I've contacted an atty and they're looking to see if they can go after the holding company in any way, shape or form for liability and compensation. If they think they can prove liability / responsibility for the fraud, deception and extortion then they'll request a grand jury for next steps in class action. Looks like Michael Craig Driskel doesn't have a pot to pi55 in but the holding company looks like it has deep pockets.
- jomama| 2 repliesI have found a attorney for the classs action she has agreed on it as they investigated it and found out he is a scumbag and Doug Mashke is using the money he collects from people to purchase yachts and he owns a ship and yacht club in Sarasota Florida. I will be signing the papers and faxing them back to thge attorney tomorrow.

- kI saw a # on my cell phone I didn't recognize. called back. They looked up my #- nothing ok. caller insisted I gave name cuz could be important. I kept asking what co. this was and he kept mumbling HR insurance or something...when I gave my last name he had my first and last 4 of ss#. said it was about an accident I had in FL in a rental car in 2005 and owed 1500 for damages. I stated I had no accident and the rental car was cleared. months later I recieved a paper from rental co. stating damage- the same paper was forged..I told him. He told me I had to get back to him by 6:00 that nite. I told him I was at work and needed to get my paperwork together. He told me I was a liar and he was gonna file a claim. He told me these things sneak up back at u and i cant hide from it. I told him I wasnt hiding from anything and he could just do what he has to do.. he wanted my email address. I wouldnt provide. He was very rude. I saw it sketchy becuase he was mummbling the info I needed but very clear on his stuff. I also figured if it was legit--hey I have never moved, I would have recieved something in writing from someone if was a true case..these scams are out of control.. best advice..just be aware- wish we can stop but too time consuming just watch selves---a true collection agency is reputible.
- Tremeshia D. EllisI recently received a letter from HK Craig & Associates attempting to collect almost $2000 from me supposedly resulting from an Insurance claim from Affirmative Insurance from 2003. This letter was received in 2011.
I attempted to call Affirmative and was unable to get through. I then called HK Craig & Associates and spoke with a gentleman who refused to answer any questions regarding supposed accident, refused to transfer me to a supervisor, threatened to have my driver's license suspended and claimed to have reported this "debt" to the three major credit bureaus.
The gentleman eventually hung up abruptly. Because I used my partner's cellular telephone, this company has repeatedly called that number since our initial conversation.
The funny thing is, I think they've contacted me before and my insurance company determined that this was an attempt to collect from a fraudulent claim.
I would like contact information from any legitimate attorney in Washington, DC willing to file a lawsuit on my behalf.- Caller: HK Craig & Associates
