Same situation- answered an ad on Craig's list, received the following email message:

First of all I want to tell you that the car is in perfect condition, and the price includes all the shipping costs and insurance so you will not have to pay any extra charges if you can't come to Illinois to make the deal.
My brother works at the shipping company and he has 1 transportation per year for free so the shipping will be free.

Just wanted to let everyone know.  
The old adage: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

I explained that I reported to Craig's List Fraud Protection and she told me I could come and pick the car up, sent an address to my e-mail and everything.

Its very funny but yes the same scenario as you had too. About the single mom, 25 two kids divorce etc. Then the e-bay secure thing too which I googled and it came up with a scam thing that explained everything she is saying about the verification process and that it is all a fraud, e-bay doesn't do that. But the address I got was Old Tappan, NJ

As I continue to read the write up Bob wrote, I find more discrepancies She is now using the name Elizabeth Munson and the mileage this time was 31k

she struck again (if she is a she) in california...bay area.

Instead of a car it was a nice Chevy 2500; 73,000 miles and in great condition for $4100.  She had it posted in Columbus, OH but had the truck in Columbia, Tennessee.  As soon as we said we were going to drive down there and look at it we never heard from her again.  We knew it was too good to be true.  Got the same e-mails and everything.

It's probably that Krutko scumbag.
He has a habit of ripping people off then slandering them for no reason.

Same messages here.  2004 HD posted on St. Louis Craigslist.  "She" is adament about paying though ebay.  Haven't heard anymore since I said we would buy it and be there saturday with cash.  Told "her" to send me a copy of the title for my insurance company, "her" address where we needed to pick it up, and a phone number to complete the deal.  I love screwing with scammers.  LOL

you have to send the money to eBay , and they will hold the money until you have the car
and inspect , you will have 2 days for inspection and test drive and if the car is not like i say
or is something wrong with the car you can reject the car and i will pay the shipping back
So if you want to buy please give me your full name and your address

Also stated I would have a cashiers check made out to her for the $4100.00 for the 2005 F150, with 47,000 miles. Guess what? No response to my email. I wonder why? Awww geee... and I was all set to fly to Ohio... darn...

same thing, listed a truck on craigslist, I responded and then googled her name b/c it was fishy that the truck was listed in columbia MO but the email said the truck was going to be shipped from OH.  Reporting her to Craigslist.  Thanks to all who have posted!

We just fell for this...ordered a car fax and all...everything looked legit.  I gave her our name and address and phone #s and asked her to send a copy of the title.  Said she would tomorrow.  So, what happens if you did send the money?  I knew it was too good to be true.

Hi same scam, 2005 ford f150, same sob story, she used the name debra tereen, did get fake ebay page. one note the phone number for the fax on the fake ebay page is a california number, the fake agent on the page is in wilminton california, name used Alferd Gormic this is the ID. that would be used to pick up the money at the money gram office. I still have this scamer on going. does anyone know if there is a way to intercept the person who picks up the money at a money gram office? I would love to catch this scamer. I still could send a number, and tell her it's ready to pick up. any ideas or help?

I got the same crap in S. phoenix it seems like its just TRUE! but in glad i looked at this first in this add its a chevy 2500 DIESEL her name is CASSIE WOODS ADDRESS is 15 riverside dr. kingston MA 02364 she wants to do this threw Ebay  for payment. it seems real but dont let this B&^%H get you!
