- vkfunny how ive been getting calls from this number and others from M.R.S ASSOC. asking for a person who doesnt exist at this number never has since ive had this number for over 25 years also now the caller id now says international with the 800-819-8567 and the other day it was a guy named robert asking for the non existent name they also used a 718,917,877,244,201,845 number so im guessing its either a real incompetent company or a spoof spam scam either way its illegal and it should be regarded as such and stopped

- Joe Blow replies to BrianDon't ever do this. If you make any payment you're reaffirming the debt and starting the statute of limitations over again. Agencies sell your debt all the time. Just pick up the phone and if there is a one sec delay, the call is from a predictive dialer and you need to hang up immediately before it gets routed to an agent. Make a note of the number. The agencies have hundreds of numbers but some are stupid and use the same numbers. Get an answering service that is free (yes they exist) and make sure you block all unanswered 800, 866, and 877 callers. Usually these services allow you to enter numbers into a black list. Try youview.com if you don't believe me. Within a while the calls will stop. Why? Because every 6 months your account gets sold to another group and the calls will start again. This will go on forever BTW. Never settle! Why? Because they'll take your money and then issue you with a 1099-C and you'll pick up taxable income for the debt forgiveness and have the IRS on your case. How do I know? Because I buy all your debt for 5 cents on the dollar and attempt to collect....sorry but its a legitimate business and you DID incur the debt. I really don't care if you can't pay now. At the same time I don't want you getting screwed over...so play the game correctly and you'll be left alone. I own over 100 million delinquent accounts and use reputable cllection agencies to collect. The liars can all go to hell.
- msvThis number called my cell phone feb 27th 2011 and when i answered there was no one on the line. after a few hellos i realized the call was gone but low and behold my house phone rings...yes i still have a reliable house phone! lol...and its the same number. again i answered the line because i was waiting on some cruise info and thought this was it but no one was on the line and again the call was gone! the recording states m.r.s but i have no clue who that is and no call since that day on either line!

- sray replies to lametThank you for the information! It is much appreciated. I've had several companies calling me for collections and I'm not the one they are calling for! But, they continue to call and harass me as if I'm a liar and not who I say I am. This MRS collection company (800-819-8567) keeps calling me but won't leave a message and won't believe that they have wrong number. I don't use credit and all my bills are paid.... .idiots!
- johnJust got a call from: (856) 254-2440 a lady named Valerie Prince told me to call her back and she referred to me to with a name that sounds close to my name, but not my name.
She asked me to call her back at: (800) 819-8567
Speaking to her, she would not tell me where she got my number from and was very rude. Nasty people!- Caller: MRS Associates

- SmittyI have been receiving calls from this number for over a year now. They continue to ask for the same person who I do not know. The person they are looking for has the same last name as my wifes former spouse. Twice, we have spoken with live representatives...yet the calls keep coming via recording. "This is a message for --->insert name here, if you are (insert name again), and it goes onto say if you hold for 3 seconds you will...I have never let it go past the 3 seconds. I pray to GOD someone ends this nonsense.

- Wayne| 1 replyI am a self-supported missionary in Taiwan who intends to stay here the rest of my life. Before I left America in Feb 2009, I had tried for a year to sell my car, using every option open and available to me. I even went to CarMax, but they required the car deed and / or title, which of course the bank owns till you pay the debt entirely. I did everything I could... until there was nothing more I could do but leave.
When I moved to Taiwan, I even made one more payment on the vehicle loan from money that should have gone to things like.... say... eating. But I felt it important to do what I could since indeed the debt was mine and the car was still in my possession (being parked at my home Church back in Chicago). I finally surrendered the car to the bank voluntarily the next month, knowing that the whole debt collection agency issue would follow. That... was 3 years ago.
The first agency I dealt with was pretty nice. I explained everything above --- and that was that. I actually gave them my contact info in Taiwan... that put an end to any attempts to collect, until now. MRS has gotten ahold of my home church's phone number back in Chicago and is calling. I told the secretary to simply give them my home and cell phone numbers here in Taiwan --- if they want to contact me that badly, let them pay to do so.
In any case, I tracked the phone # they gave back to this site, felt I needed to speak up that they are still out there, and still using the same tactics. It's been nearly 6 months since the last person posted anything --- I'm here to say these folks are still out there and still doing whatever they can to harass, strongarm, intimidate and force you into payment.- Caller: MRS

- Wayne replies to WayneOh... I also tried calling the phone number given from here in Taiwan --- all i get is an international "No longer in Service" tone. Guess when they are willing to give out a genuine number, I'll be willing to pay for the phone call to contact them further.
- janeGot a message from a southern California number ((760) 530-6048) but they were MRS Associates and told me they were a debt collection agency and got my information from the creditor. They told me to call this number. I won't, because they didn't reference me by name in the message - I don't have ANY debt. None other than my mortgage, which is being paid on time every month. The person who called says her name is Sharon Taylor, and she gave me a reference number to give when I call back. I WILL NOT call back, since they didn't reference my name in the message and I have no debt. Where in the world did they get my cell phone number?!?

- Trebuchet in Houston TXRec'd a call from this company @ 2:52 today. Caller ID showed this number: 281-231-9246. Since I screen all calls, I let the caller leave a msg, then returned the call using the number she left, 800-819-8567. I spoke w/ a very nice young woman who identified herself as Melissa Rojas & gave me the name of the company for whom she works (MRS Associates). She asked if she could please speak to/be directed to "Stephan/Stephen Rojas". I explained the number Mr. Rojas gave as his, is actually my home number & has been since January 1989. I gave her my name w/ spelling & she offered to immediately remove our number from his file & apologized. Now I may have a gotten a "newbie", but she was very nice & customer-satisfaction driven (sorry for that word!). If it happens again, I may not be as gracious or forgiving.
