Phone call saying warrant out for arrest for check pan I didn't get and say will see u in court on Monday if I don't pay 300 now

SCAM!  The arrest warrant is a lie and an illegal statement under Federal law. Debt it always a civil matter, not criminal.  They also cannot see you in court until you have been served with a summons and service cannot take place this close to a court date.

they just send an email too. they told me that i owed  $125.

A phone call or an email from a supposed debt collector is not legally sufficient evidence of debt.

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) includes statements such as this:

* Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money.   ["Written" means snailmailed ... not emailed or texted]

Therefore, if that caller wants you to pay immediately, before you get the written validation notice via snailmail, or if the caller wants payment via green dot, Western Union, or other untraceable means, then the call is definitely not legitimate.

This is a scam got a email that they were from the secretary of state and that there was a arrest warrant for me .

I got an email saying a warrant for my arrest is filed with the US Attorney General's office. I called 202-241-2600 and got a recording. The man had a real thick accent. I didn't leave a message.

Its a scam operation. You can attach the email to a complaint filed with IC3, the cyber crimes division of the FBI..

just received a call from someone foreigh, could not understand their name but told me they were from attorney generals office and that I had three charges against me? They said they emailed me all the documents (NOT) and I told them to talk to my attorney and hung up! I hate these people praying on innocent people and constantly calling from different numbers all day along!
