- JOCalled my cell and my work number several times. Hung up the first time then they kept calling and left a message. said they were going to serve me papers and to get a lawyer right away or if not good luck.
- Caller: some law firm they said
- Lee CheeksCalls my job, has a thick middle eastern accent. Says he is calling about a legal matter. These people must think we are a bunch of idiots, first of a all any thing legal would be done through the mail, not over the phone. All I can say is quite trying to scam the American people, you all ready do enough of it by immigrating into this country and buying out all the gas stations
- Call type: Debt collector
- CWG40Most likely Indian debt scammers. Ignore them. Invest in a call blocker. They've been using 281 area code lately.
- Caller: Informational post
- ccalled me today, dont know who they are. answered and hung up
- ACalled and left me a message stating the minute I get this message I or my retained attorney need to call. If I disregard this message all he can say is good luck. No company name given, but he stated his name was Nelson Martin (with a thick middle eastern accent). Nice try...I did try calling the number back to see what other information I could get for a police report (if you tell them to never call you again and they do it is harrasment).
- Caller: Nelson Martin
- Call type: Prank
- MS| 1 replyCalled and left me a message stating that it is time sensitive and the minute I get this message I or my retained attorney need to call him. If I disregard this message all he can say is good luck. No company name given, but he stated his name was Jeremy Nelson (with a thick middle eastern accent). I have had one of these calls before and got tons out of them with including how to pay them and when they said you have to have a vanilla reload card I knew it was a scam. (well I knew it was at first because I didn't have a loan with the cashnet usa they said I did). I just hate that they have my work and my cell number. How can we catch these people or have them to stop calling. They get very rude when you try to talk to them to get more out of them and I even went as far as calling Washington DC and they told me certain things to tell them and when I did they got all spitter sputter and got real mad. LOL. It's a shame that some people will fall into the trap and give them money. We need to stop these people.
- M.e.| 1 replyRude middle eastern transferred several times. Asked for money from an outstanding loan. Threatened arrest and blotch on record...would call my job. Was. Told I needed to pay 1000 immediately and their attorneys would make arrangements with me.....
- Call type: Debt collector
- CWG40 replies to MSCall blocker is your best bet. These people are located in India and beyond the reach of US law.
- CWG40 replies to M.e.Ignore them. Total scam. Operated out of India.
- me| 1 replyHow do you ignore them if they call your work? This is embarrassing and they have called over 5 times threatening me. I have already reported the number, but dang.
- Tamianth replies to meYour employer should be taking steps to block this number from calling. Print this out if you need to also. They should also be reporting the calls to the proper authority's.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans
Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010 FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691
The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers. - TinaGot a call at work telling me the second I hear the message, myself or my attorney need to call them back or all he could say was good luck. Hard to understand him due to thick accent. I was about to call back when I decided to Google the number. Thank you to everyone who has posted this number as a scam!

- jackie| 1 replyI got a message at my work from this number claiming they were an attorney office. Scared the [***] out of me threatening me with legal actions served subpoena. I'm glad in looking into it. They're wanting money from a loan that I paid off a year ago. The supposed attorney office is called Samuel's or samul lawyer firm. The number is located in Texas so is their affiliates number (713) 370-8073.
- stac| 2 repliesThey just called me at work and said this was in relation to US Cash and I owed $ 450. If not, then they would be serving me with papers in the next 3 hours and I would be arrested for investigation. If I lost in court, I would be facing an $ 8000 penalty.
- Call type: Debt collector
- Frank replies to stacThere is no debtor prison in America. You can't be arrested for owing someone money. What they are doing is using VoIP to mask the fact that they are calling from India. These scumbags just called me trying to pull the same crap and the number is a Florida number. Just ignore them, let them make all the threats they want to. After threatening you a few times with no action they will realize that you are on to them and they'll leave you alone.
- UnaThey called and said the same thing to me today 8-21-14. Saying his name was steve gray and he was an attorney. Steve Gray is a well known minister. But He definitely had an Indian accent or some sort of that. SCAMMERS!!! Plus he called my work. No one knows my work number. I don't even know my numbers.
