Got a call and didn't recognize the number so didn't answer. They actually left a voicemail. It was a robotic sounding woman that said a complaint was filed against me and that they would serve me papers at work or home unless I called them back at the same number. The problem is that they can't threaten you over the phone.

Received a call from this number with a voice mail saying call a case has been filed against me, call this number. Got the same call from 720-446-0595, which is reported as a scam on this web site yesterday

I found who they are and my attorney is filing a law suit against them. I did this with another idiot company and won 20k. These guys are easy to sue. You should check into it!

My husband has 5 calls on his cell phone from these people...have no clue who they are or what they want - when you try to call back, Miss Robot answers, they're not open and voice mailbox is full.

Already reported the other 4 calls to ic3, phishing@irs.gov, the IAG's office and both Do Not Call registries.  This is getting ridiculous.  Today's call is they have a warrant out for him -

Got the same call from the 405 number, and last week I got one from someone in Denver wanting to serve my papers. Somebody sold my phone number to the scam scum.

I get tons of calls like this, how do you find out WHO these people are? And how do you sue them?

It's a scam. They were originally calling me from Denver. I spoke to an actual person today and told her to not call me again. That I am aware of their scam, I have contacted an attorney, it's a totally bogus, false accusation they're making, and I will sue them if they contact me again. She tried to verify my name and didn't even have the correct last name. Idiots. Don't worry about it!

The person calling left voice mail very aggressive stating they have documentation reference some file # and will be serving my place of work or at home.

Some Tips:
*Keep all messages
*Take a picture of your Caller ID
*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time,date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

Mysterious number keeps calling

I got the same phone call yesterday and then they called again today, threating to sue and come to my place of employment.
They had alot of my information so I put fraud alerts on my credit report at all three bureaus.  I was also told to file fraud complaints with the Federal Trade Commission - www.ftc.gov and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau - www.consumerfinance.gov.  I'm also considering getting an attorney.

yeah i called them back   and i was please take me off the call list they tried to get info  from me as soon as i said phishing scam  and im contacting  my lawyer they hung up on me  called them 5 times  all 5 times they hng up on me

So did I from both these phone numbers.  Have called me various times from those phone numbers.  I know they are scams.  If I call them back, they will regret it.

It is illegal for telemarketers to (robot) call people on their cell phones in the US, so this may fall under the same law.

this number calls and tells me that she has a claim against me and I will be served either at home or work if I don't call back.

The call is from a business called "Inktel Direct" (1-888-4-INKTEL · Contact Center Solutions)
This number called me (405-673-5800), so I kept calling them... every second on the phone with me is time lost calling another lead. As soon as they hung-up, I redialed; they put me on hold, I called from another line (I was at work - have multiple lines to call from). I never got mean or raised my voice... "What company is this? How do you spell that? And what is it that your guys do? etc" I actually was having fun... anywho*, my number has been removed from their call list now. All is well on my end.
