received 7 calls form this # in the last few days. I don't answer  the calls I don't recognize and they would not leave me alone calling and not leaving messages.

caller asked for me. could not pronounce my name correctly. I hung up. My caller id said "unknown caller"

I just got a call from this number.  No one said anything when I answered so I hung up.

The caller said it was a courtesy call and hung up. Strange.

Received two calls from this number so far.  My number is unlisted so I am curious as to how they got it and WHAT THEY WANT.  

I called them back since I have a free long distance plan.  Stupid me!  It said it was some communications company. Strange.

This number calls me once a week around the same time....they don't leave a message and I always miss the call. Who is this calling?

We receive calls from this number frequently.  Caller ID says "unavailable."  Once we say hello, there is the click click.  They never say anything -- even when voice messaging picks it up.  Our number is also unlisted/unpublished, so I would suspect it is random computer dialing.

Someone calls from this number every day at the same time...Does anyone knows is it possible to block the number?

I work for a business, and got this call at the office -- just like everyone else,  there was no answer, but there was very definitely someone on the other end...almost as if someone had their cell phone in their pocket and accidentally called you didn't know it. GetZips.com (an excellent source for lots of info for things like this) reports the 416 area code comes from Ontario, Canada. Further research revealed it's a land line, and a Bell Canada customer. Tried to block the number, but since it's from Canada, you can't. Next step seems to be calling Bell Canada to block the number...looked in the Canadian Yellow Pages/White Pages - nothing.

I got a call from this number today but when I answered it no one was there?

I received many calls from this phone number located in the area of Toronto, Ontario.

I have had this number on my phone too. Answered and they asked for me by FULL NAME. Thick accent so I said they had the wrong number. Does anyone know who these people are?

This number is for a Canadian Marketing firm. http://www.optima.net. What ticks me off is when I got a all they asked for my full name, so some one sold my information. I am going to look at all my accounts to see if I can find out who as this is an invasion of my privacy. Spam, junk mail and now calling my house!

Seriously i just got a call for the umpteenth time on a fairly new cell phone. Last summer i worked at a call center, in new brunswick, which was routed through montreal, and in some instances a number very similar to this probably appeared. since we only called in Canada, all of the information was purchased through Info Canada.  So basically, the government sells the info and there's not much you can do about that.  The problem is that tons of call centres are all calling from "the same number." If you can get someone to respond on the other end, ask them to remove you from their entire DATABASE.  if you ask to be removedd from a list, call centres who do multiple campains in you area will call you again in a month or two fro something else! But if you say DATABASE you "should" be clear of at least a few calls over the years!  ;)

When I pick up, they hang up. I called back and they started saying words in French.... horrible accent.... the girl is definetely not French.

Just like everybody else here, receive a call from them all of the time. Almost daily. When I answer the phone, they hang up. When I called the number back, the recording was in a foreign language. I tried to get someone to answer the phone so I could demand they remove me from their data base to no avail. I will be just as persisitent as they are though. Good luck to everbody else.

I have been receiving calls from 416-581-1076 almost every day since apr 14. Today again ... Sometimes I miss the call, sometimes I answer but there is no one talking and they hand up. I looked up the Web address mentioned above www.optima.net and called their published number 416-581-1236. I talked to the receptionist and she told me they would remove my phone number from their list and not call me anymore. Hope this is the end of this!
