A person named Diane Miller called me from this number regarding a Providian Credit Card account, according to her.  She was very nasty and verbally abusive, when I told her this was not my account.

These scumbags threatened a lawsuit on some J P Morgan Chase account I had some 15 years ago.  Said they were sending someone over with important legal papers.  First of all McByrd is not licensed in Florida.  Any debt is passed the statuate of limitations.  I told them I was going to counter sue them.  I believe they have stolen accounts from Calvary Portfolio.  Do not pay them anything, EVER.  I will file a claim with FDCPA on them.

Never let bullies on the phone confuse extortion with debt collection. Honest debt collectors do not typically send their claims straight to a judge, and they don't take your ransom money to broker quick deals with so-called "process servers". There are no secretive "arbitrators", "assessment specialists", "detectives", "investigators", "mediators", or "prelitigation specialists". They are sweaty double-talking criminals with a script full of coercive remarks. Lawful debt collection is a process, not an ambush, and you are due a chance at each stage to raise a dispute. The agents' horrid threats are empty and their conduct is illegal. Do not reward lawbreakers with your money. Challenge them always, sue them if you can.

If you get a call out of the blue saying you owe a debt, did you get anything in the mail? No? Well, if you have a debt that has gone to collection "You got mail". You'll get mail, and lots of it. From every few days, to once a week. There will be a letter in your box from a brick and mortar collection agency. It will have their name, address, & phone number. It'll show who you originally owed, for how much, and how much it will cost to settle it. Any call you receive telling you that you owe money, tell them to send you proof in the mail. US Mail, not fax, text, or email.

    1. You have defrauded a financial institution
    2. You owe an unpaid payday loan
    3. You have a warrant due to an unpaid loan
    5. You will receive a court summons
    6.  Authorities are coming to arrest you
    7.  Anything similar to above,
     a.   Do not give them any information or verify any information for them
     b.   Tell them you know they are a scam operating illegally and that you are   filing a complaint with the  appropriate authorities
    * File a complaint with the FBI on their Internet Crime webpage     http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx
    * File a complaint with the Attorney General for the state you live in
The more information and complaints there are, the better the chance of getting these criminals to stop (or at least reduce the frequency).    [abstracted from another site]
They continue to bother  you, tell them you are going to the police to make a complaint of extortion.

This group buys old debts (past the statute of limitations) and pressures you into paying a portion of it. They change their name and number (P and C Capital Group, P & B Capital LLC, Ross Warren Assoc, Mcbyrd and Assoc) to avoid persecution. There are multiple lawsuits pending in atleast 15 states. THIS IS A SCAM. CALL THE FBI AND YOUR ATTY GENERAL AND REPORT THEM!!!

Yep, got a threatening call from these dbags this morning!  The voicemail from a blocked number talked about serving legal papers and confirming the time they could serve.

I called back (626-537-2301) and Sabrina started in immediately with a fake miranda warning. She used ever escalating threats to attempt to get me to pay some old visa bill that I know nothing about (I've never even HAD a Visa card - only Amex and MC!).  She escalated to threats against my tax returns and self-owned business when I started laughing at her 'miranda warning'.

I finally hung up, then called back a few moments later to request a mailing address for my attorney. She yelled some more and refused to provide any additional information. I attempted to notify her that I was recording the call, would refer it to my attorney, planned to report it to the Attorney General, etc, but she wouldn't let me finish a sentence.  I finally disconnected.

I'd like to report them, but I don't even have a clear business name to do so.  Her voicemail sounded something like 'Ackerman and Bird'.  Hopefully I can get something done with the phone number I called.

Bottom line, folks: these type of [***] little companies have one mission - to intimidate people into handing over cash. Don't fall for it, don't let yourself get intimidated by their threats and pseudo-legal language. And Never, EVER, give them any banking or credit card account information.

I highly doubt that I'll hear from them again.

I have gotten the same phone calls and voice mails. They threaten with serving me with documents either at work or home (nothing's been delivered). They also ask to confirm my identity by asking for  my social security # (yes right)!! When I ask for mailing address they hang up. This is the second name/phone number for this company. They are trying to scam people!

    Don't give them anything.
